Pd160 question

Featured Replies

Hi people, I've got a pd160 fitted with piper x air filter, in the next few months or less it's getting mapped. Will u see much gain from this pipe or shall I leave it stock ??

Many thanks

If you've already got it leave it on.

The PD160 means more air meaning more fuel can be burnt meaning a better map.

no point strangling air supply back down again but puttnig the standard PD130 intake on again

Before Jabba remapped mine they ranit with just the PD160 and a green cotton filter and got 142 bhp out of it.

Of course it could have been running strong figures above the standard 130 already....

Ok thanks buddy, well if I invest in a turbo back milltek exhaust what figures am I looking at? If I'm looking for 180bhp I'm going to be looking at a bigger turbo ain't it

My car was mapped by Jabba to 177bhp with nothing but a PD160 and cotton filter.

Not sure on gains from an exhaust change but to make the most of any improvements you'd want the remap after it's fitment.

Anything above that kind of power you will indeed need a different turbo/front mount intercooler/clutch and very deep pockets

Why thank you buddy, what's the best panel filter to have?? K&N, green cotton or piper X

Standard paper one :)

It's not restrictive, and won't let tiny particles through which can damage your turbo. No oil to potentially damage your MAF either.

Just change every 10,000 miles.

Seriously... aftermarket ones are pointless unless you are going for 240BHP.

Get rid on the little plastic flap too where the end of the pipe attaches to

What end buddy?? I can't see no flap when I looking through the pipe??

Its where the trumpet attaches to in the bumper dude. Also my full turbo back piper showed gains of 0.4bhp lol!

Hmmm must already be moved then, when engine off you can see down the pipe as well as when the engines on, il double check haha

Is it there lol

Think it might be yeah, cos the hole is half the size

I just got rid of my pd160 - also the little inlet of the front panel and replaced the whole lot with a 75mm piece of ducting - and I still use the std paper filter - my old one was knackered!

Can any one else take a picture of the front hole please :)

I think

Yeah that's right, just get a hack saw blade and cut out the plastic so you can see the full diamiter of the pipe as you look down it
