Well done Autoexpress as i am sure you are already all aware that the Superb has just won a number of awards at the latest Autoexpress 2012 review. There were many categories but the superb won " best family car " beating the Mondeo into second and the " best estate car " beating the Audi a6. Their latest edition has all the details including their car of the year which is the skoda Citygo. Ps I don't work for Autoexpress. Well done skoda.

Cool saw on the web a while ago but bought the mag today rubbish photo of the estate green line. Just today drove to south coast and back 300 miles 50 mpg. In 170 cr diesel. Sorry but i think the saloon is ugly but the estate looks good. If I saw that photo of the green line auto express awards I def would not buy......shame......

It is very interesting how all these contests are organised. I recently read a large comparison in some Polish motor enthusiast magazine and out of 10 Superb was 3rd - from the bottom. First was Mazda 6, second Passat and third Mondeo if I remember well.

When it come down to it, its always just someone's opinion. Whether the car is First or Seventh its gratifying to know that we are driving a car that's up there with the best...in their opinion!!!

The key thing is not AutoExpress's choice of Britain's best new cars (can we extend that to the UK please?), but their Driverpower survey that sits at the back of it. Three of the top four cars for driver owner satisfaction are Skoda. Superb came second - but to a Yeti so that's ok . I would not like to have been Mercedes in third place sandwiched between a Superb and Octavia. Skoda are up there with the UK's best cars because drivers' opinions have put them there and AutoExpress has acknowledged that in their choice. Go Citigo! Best City Car and Car of the Year. I love to see the youngsters do well.

Yet for all that magazines do have their favourites. What Car, while giving the Skoda 4 stars goes for the Mondeo as their choice and in their recent survey of best towing cars for caravan's the Skoda was not even mentioned, despite it being crowned tow car of the year by the caravan club in 2010!!

I'd also like What Dog ( there really should be a mag with that title) to review the Superb Estate as possibly the only estate where you can take your dog for a walk without getting out of the car...

Personally I'm sticking with AutoExpress as the thinking man's car mag...wonder why?

Agree about Autoexpress....I have completed their survey every year on what ever car I happen to have at the time.....all vw group products and belive thier drive power survey to be an accurate window of owners opinions.

I was asked to feature as a superb owner to give comments and have the car photographed for a full page article on my experience of the car.
