Part numbers

Featured Replies

When I changed my air filter recently I noticed the part number on the old one that came out was different slightly to the new one, both OE from the dealer.

Old one: 3CO 129 620 A

New one: 1KO 129 620 D

They are identical in every way, anyone know why the difference? The Pollen filters old/new had identical numbers 1K2 819 653 B

Ask Tim, the Guru - aka "The Plumber" - rarely known to be wrong, but nevertheless always willing to learn, and a source of HUGE help to all Yeti Owners - - and having met him on a Yeti Adventure, a thoroughly decent chap to boot.

Isn't the second one of those for an octavia?! (they wouldnt differ at all if that's is correct id bet)

3C is a Passat designed component and 1K is Golf V.

The rest of the number is the same which identifies the component type, although the last latter usually indicates any modifications or updates.

At a guess 1KO 129 620 D would be the more updated part due to the letter D at the end.

Hope of help,

TP

Thanks for that, I could'nt see any difference between the two, so don't know what the update would be. But obviously lots of VAG OE parts fit on different vehicles. I get all my parts from the dealer, so they are genuine.
