Owls

These were taken at a photographic day at a Bird of Prey centre close to Hexham. It was very overcast and I struggled to get shutter speeds high enough to freeze the wing tips but I like the impression of movement the blur gives. Or that’s my excuse anyway.

Great shots. I love birds of prey

Here's a couple I took at Woodside Falconry in Lincolnshire with a point and shoot camera:

Twitchertastic. Nice pics both.

I do think greenstripe's owl has been hit very hard with the ugly stick though!

Big stick, big owl it's a Great Gray Owl from North America.

I prefer a bit of blur on some BIF shots, to be honest. A good set, especially in the conditions. Prefer finding and photographing them in the wild though...

I love birds of prey too. I saw a couple of Sea Eagles while I was in Scotland.

Got a couple of pics, but at 80x zoom they are'nt anywhere near as good as the above

Great pictures guys.

Brilliant pictures. Would love to take some like this rather than behind cages in zoos.

If ever near Lincoln, Woodside Falconry is a fantastic day out -it's not just birds of prey and you can get up close and personal with a lot of the residents. They have reptiles, pig racing for the kids a butterfly house and a troupe of lemurs that they let out to climb all over you I took loads of pictures. If I had a proper camera and knew how to use it I'd get some great stuff.
