The nurburgring is a fantastic experience, so i have been lead to believe. I have also been told anything under 300hp is too slow for the track. But i would take that with a bucket of salt. If you go onto http://www.northloop.co.uk/ there are some great video's to download to give you an idea of how mental it really is.

Can't wait to do it, when i have a fast car - lol.

1. I have been known to partake of a spot of Ring action ;) as have Paul, Manny and Nick. In total I have done approx 850 laps.

2. Tunnel to Calais, drive to the Ring - approx 300 miles.

Manny,

Hows the plans we talked about coming along?

To be honest I'd nearly forgot about going...has solved one of our dates for a social though :D

As to what goes there, yeah for time setting I guess you need power....but personal challenges (they are the most dangerous in any sport) anything goes...to be honest if I take anything other than a push bike there; I'll be teriffied.

Oh,

and the ring is an amazing place to be. I usually make 3 or more trips each year, the atmosphere of the whole area is like wow. You see some really nice cars, porsche GT3's are everywhere and they are

Practise on GT4 in a simulary powerd car to what you drive, might get you a bit more familier with the track and speeds etc.. :D

I was up for a trip to the ring until GT4, it's not as easy as I first thought, and it doesn't seem to forgive that easy (correct me if I'm wrong). Saying that if I was with a few other furbies or cars of the same speed I guess I'd be fine............................I think

The version of the ring on GT4 is very good as far as the track goes, but driving the thing circuit in real life is so different. I cant get on with the ring on GT4 either, but in real life I know where every bend is and how fast I can go safely.

Its not that bad, especially when you see how slow some people go, you see everything from Coaches to Vans right through to performance vehicles.

If you click the link below, you can download an incar video clip of ****'s old Octavia RS being driven round the ring by Dirk Schoysmann, test driver for Nissan. The video is from www.8200rpm.com and is 96MB so broadband only I am afraid.
