hi just bought skoda octavia vrs its been remapped and had the dpf taken out is this the reason for the black

smoke when driving hard ?

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hello peterobbo1 and welcome along

You're best asking in the relevant Octavia forum

It's a lot common with Stage-1 remaps. If there was no smoke before the remap, it most likely is the map itself, else the first suspect would be your Turbo.

cheers hell666 if it was the turbo wouldnt that affect the power of the car

it drives normal untill ya put ya foot to the floor

If the Turbo was damaged to a great extent, yes, it would affect the power and would even sound like a siren. A simple oil leak in the Turbo can cause it to emit heavy black smoke. However, in your case, it most likely is just the remap and nothing else! :)

youve removed the dpf. this is what catches the black smoke so if it didnt smoke now i would be worried!
