Anyone know where i can get a decent 130pd asz turbo, cheapish. By that i mean less than 800 that garage is quoting.

tdi turbos, i just bought a hybrid for a cracking price, he might do standard aswel if you ask.

Anyone know if a pd150 hybrid will be a straight fit and if it will run as 130 with the standard map?

Needs the housing turned round (not hard or time consuming) and yes it'll run fine.

Might be a dumb question. But if i go the 150hybrid route with standard map. Its not going to produce more power is it? Or over heat the smic?

I know basics but when it comes to turbos its new ground for me.

From what ive read it just looks like heavier duty internalswould this be correct.

Nope, it'll still produce the same amount of power, so smic will be fine. The 150 turbo is slightly bigger than the 130 but until it's mapped it wouldn't produce any more power. Might get a tiny bit of extra lag but I doubt you would notice.

Thanks very much, im bit stuck because i was dropping something off with a friend who works at vw garage. So had to leave car there. Cant phone round turbo places because there all closed till monday. And the rough quote i got from vw was 800 plus vat for part.

Turbo dynamics have got sale on pd150 hybrid at moment so if thats better and cheaper may aswell do that.

Is it an insurance infoming matter?

Was your car mapped? How many miles had it done. Am curious to know how likely turbos are to die at some point.

Not mapped but has tuning box and mufflerectomy. Think its done 86k. Does 400 mile a week.

Is yours standard 150 or hybrid

im pretty sure you can fit a 150hybrid on a blt engine. theres loads of people on here that have done that. if its a problem fitting due to egr delete then just by a delete kit.

No reason why it would go boom. As said loads of people have done that.

The AFR would reduce and the VNT map would be off slightly but that's all.
