Citigo ASG

Featured Replies

Estate Man,

Let us hope it meets your needs when you have had the chance to try it. Perhaps you should borrow the car from the dealer for a day or two and run it all over the place like roundabouts, upp hill and down hill etc before you make up your mind. And thank you very much for your suggestion about the edit function, I'll give it a try.

OK, here is how I managed to sort out my edit problem in this post, it may help others (googling for the problem helped). It has some thing to do with the cache! If while editing and saving changes you get a "type error:ipb.textEditor error" message and nothing happens, press ctrl +r OR ctrl +F5 (try one then the other). It seems to clear the cache and then it will work.

As a passenger in the Citigo ASG when wifey test drove it, it seems a lot smoother change than the Smart (the outgoing steed is a 70PS Roadster) and possibly a bit quicker BUT the hesitation is still there but quite well muted to be honest. Unless you get a twin clutch "robotised manual" (like a DSG) then there will always be some delay compared to a conventional slushbox.

Manual based transmissions do have an increase in efficiency and in some cases will outperform the manual equivalent in terms of MPG - well, until stop-start came in, that is! As for weight penalty - the ASG versions are lighter than the manual ones...thats either one heavy pedal, or its the bigger battery, alternator and starter motor?
