  • managed to get a few more bits done to day! took of the inlet manifold and swapped injectors to the bam fuel rail stripped the wiring for the throttle body, inlet temp sensor, and map sensor and pull

  • Bam inlet now on!!!! I will do more but I'm going To the shop now to get a beer!!

Love it mate! Very nice list of mods there. What power you aiming for?

Custom Front mount going on there? Ever thought about running an S3 cooler? Fantastic cores on these, slim enough to make it easy to fit and it'll sit nice and high to take feeds from upper and lower grills. V.popular in high power diesel tuning ; ) plus I'm sure you'll be able to get it sitting straight.

Car looks really good though - thumbs up to you fella!

Looks cool mate :)

I will keep a eye on this one as id like the k04-001 from backdraft motorsport :)

Hi mate I looking for a solid 250bhp a little higher or a little less and I won't be dissapointed, just had a quick look at the s3 cooler and that looks interesting but a bit high on price at the moment! My aim is to get up to stage 2 quickly and cheaply then sort out flow issues and get everything right and spot on over winter so a s3 cooler may make a appearance then ;)

Hi Lloyd the turbo won't be happening until April next year due to my current insurance company not allowing a turbo change :( however this does give me time to get all the pipes etc flowing as best as they can, I do believe you can get the turbo from tps cheaper than backdraft!

Is the k04-001 a oe part then ?

Or dies tps do upgrades to ?

I always thought it was something that popped up do to its direct fit.... Like a hybrid thingy but weird :D

As far as I'm aware mate it is a genuine vw upgrade and therefore can be bought through tps! I'm sure someone will confirm this though.

I beleve theres a borg warner version that responds well to tunning etc???

I think its the same one i upgraded to when i had my mk2 golf 1.8t :)

If it is it was very cool :D but that said it was running off a motec ecu so i dunno hiw anything was set up :(

I just know i want one :D

Hi

If your current insurer cant cover the modification you plan maybe I could help.

Im a fellow Modified VRS owner and work at Greenlight Insurance. We are a specialist modified vehicle insurance company. Would you like me to give you a indicated quotation for what the insurance will be once the Turbo is finished?

Our policies include like for like replacement on all modified parts in the event of a repair, Agreed Value is available and we can also cover Track Days on a per event basis.

We currently offer Briskoda Members a discount off our rates as well.

If you can limit your mileage to be below 7500 per year that can qualify for a larger reduced mileage concession.

I understand the VRS and what mods people do so will only take a couple of mins to run a quote.

Best Regards

Neil

This sound good to me but I have paid all the premium up front so I don't want the hassle of changing at the mo! I will be in contact though .

Bam inlet manifold has arrived :)

Now what colour should I powder coat this, red or black?

Black. Nothing is red on the car, unless you can do green?

Black would look pretty cool IMO.

I keep thinking black would look neat, daves is black iirc

Well I have plenty of black powder, hmmm! The Intercooler will be done 100% black.

  • Author

Rocker cover will also be done the same colour.

Santa pod tomorrow to set a bench mark for the new mods! Hoping for a 15.5 1/4 mile as it stands.

So far after 3 runs I have a best of 15.0128 @ 95.49 mph.

thats really good buddy

makes a huge difference with sticky track and good tyres ;-)

If he gets a 2.3 60ft he'll do a 14.9 with that terminal, impressive for a stage one and exhaust !

15.0128 was the fastest time achieved of the day with the the average being 15.3.
