tdi wiring diagram from ecu to fuel pump?

Featured Replies

hi all, for the past few months ive been having an absolute nightmare with my tdi 110.. started with a warning light and engine cutting out (as if it ran out of fuel) now it does this every 5miles and has made the car undriveable :(

i have changed ever component in the fuel system, taken it to the main dealers (who couldnt fix it! ) bought vag-com to set the timing and now just had the ecu tested.. ive got to the point where i now know code 17656 without having to look it up or check its the right one :(

the last attempt before it goes on ebay as spares or repair is to test the resistance between pump and ecu.. :( :(

does anyone have a wiring diagram or know which ecu pins go to the pump?

cheers, steve

(to date i have changed- fuel pump/injectors/fuel filter/bypass valve on filter/tank sender/temp sensor/relay 109/accelerator pedal/ set the timing dynamically using vag com/ had the ecu tested..)

Have you checked the earthing cables and all fusebox on top of the battery for dodgy connections?

yeh- thats one of the first things i did :(

Checked the whole fuel line for kinks or damage, including return pipes etc?

yeh- all fuel pipes checked/blown through.. (that was one of my first thoughts- fuel starvation ) :(

As you have tried everything else, try these unlikely ones:

Intermittent engine speed sensor?

Intermittent throttle position sensor?

Might be worth checking their connectors, particularly the engine speed sensor at the front, low down.

Compression test?

i'll give those connections another look.. compression test?- it runs great for the first 5 miles?

Then starts warming up and stalling as things start expanding? Just an idea sounds highly unlikely but you never know

I've assumed it's a 2001 Leon Sport...

The N108 (Injection commencement valve) only has two wires.

A +ve supply at pin 10 of the connector (yellow/black). This is fed via fuse 34.

A control wire at pin 9 of the connector (black). This is from an active-low output of the ECU (pin 114 of large ECU connector).

Remember to check the wires between the pump connector and body. You will have to strip back the sleeve to do so.

well, fuse 34 to pin 10 has no resistance, so that looks ok.. need to work out which one is pin 114 of the ecu (ecu-still away at testers..)

its a 2002 leon se.. - although its more my old octy now- with all the parts ive substituted trying to sort this out!

Hi Stevezuki,

Did you get it fixed in the end? If so what was the issue?

Im having exactly the same issues with my fabia atm and have just sent my ECU off to be checked too!

Cheers mate, As you were / are i am pulling my hair out too! haha.

Carl

Let me know what car and engine code its for and ill try to dig it out.

Have you done a pressure test with VCDS?

yeh, pressure test/checked all wiring/.. ive given up on it now.. :(

got myself a s/h octy (proper car!) :) :) the seat's going on ebay as spares or repairs sometime next week..

my problem was- i was pretty sure i had fixed it, there was an earth connection under the battery tray that looked a bit ropey.. cleaned it all up and it seemed to drive fine.. attempted a 300 mile round trip to find that within 20 miles of setting back home, warning light came on/ misfire/ died.. sod to restart.. took me over 3hrs to complete a 90 minute drive home.. totally lost confidence in the car- so ebay it is..
