SKODA UK refusing to accept liability with injector recall faults.

Hi folks,

I have another thread regarding the issue of problems after the recall injectors being fitted but was wanting to possibly compile a list of people who have also have had these problems both with success stories and unsuccessful conclusions. This would greatly assist in any legal proceedings and help other users who no doubt will encounter problems.

Latest for myself is SKODA UK are denying any responsibility for the fuel in oil, raised oil level,DPF light on more often and slight juddering at semi throttle. They claim the seals on the injectors will not be the issue although they havnt checked them rather stating that the compression test on the engine proves no leaking seal. However when the engine is regenerating it gets thermal expansion and then shrinks which is when the leaking occurs......hence why they havent found the problem with compression test!

They have refused to re sit or change the seals as good will jesture to rule out this issue but would charge around £240 to do this.

My car never missed a beat in over 2 yrs then 2weeks after going to Skoda for recall it has problems!

Skoda UK are a customer service disgrace and I intend on taking the fight to them.

Get Auto express involved, car makers hate being on the bad press side in the magazine and will often cave in to save face. I do think this problem does need to make it into the public domain. so it will hit the makers and the dealers where it hurts when people turn to other makes that will fix knowing faults.

Get it fixed at the dealer by paying, then if the problem is resolved send them the bill. Keep the old parts of course.

I tried that, the problem being the dealer had no idea what the cure was.

Skoda main dealer and no fault code on the diagnostic's = an inability to diagnose let alone fix the fault replace a part.

I've never seen so many shrugged shoulders in one room!

It got to the point where they'd ackowledge there was a problem but admitted that they couldn't fix it.

So a Skoda car in a Skoda garage hooked up to Skoda diagnotics machine by a Skoda master tech on the phone to Skoda Technical Support and they didn't have a clue.

Its reading these injector recall foul up threads that makes me think maybe I should just sell my CR in case they find something to recall on it that leads to problems then abandon me in the future. I hope you all get sorted and Skoda own up and foot the bills. BBC Watchdog have had recall dramas on before so might be worth contacting them once you have a reply from them forward or cc in SUK see if they brick it.

One of the reasons why a I got rid and bought a petrol. I always wanted a DSG version and one cropped up so I went for it.

Saying as I do massive miles I best stick with the diesel. Can you believe the car is now coming up for 18 months old and I just hit 9000 miles the other day :think: Had I not taken it home twice this year it would still have only 4000 miles on it lol. Such a waste tbh but petrol is mega expensive compared to diesel where I live.

Are VW, Audi and Seat drivers having the same problems after the recall??? or is just Skoda?

Having said that at least you still have your car after the recall unlike me.

Was yours the one that burst into flames a couple of miles down the road after collecting it?

Oh this sounds familiar. Even a back street garage has great diagnostic capabilities. If the computer doesn't tell them so, dealers are helpless. Took me ages to get the correct diagnosis on my steering rack despite me, my father (a former mechanic now turned industrial electrical engineer) and ABC in Pudsey all knowing what the fault was before I even took it in. It was on the basis that "they'd never seen that fail before" that they refused to admit it was the rack at fault.

My biggest issue with the dealer is them refusing to check the injector seals by removing them and re seating. I`m guessing this is because they`d have to fit new seals which would cost money. They claim the compression test proves the injectors are not leaking on seals. MNy argument is when the engine is in passive regeneration and heating up then cooling down the tiny break in one of the seals is then allowing fuel to pass......something they could never replicate on a bench test. Complete blunt refusal by SKODA to do anything in good will for the customer to rule out a fault they have likely caused. As silver said there attitude is....`if you think we caused the problem.......prove it!` :wonder:

Go to a local diesel specialist.

Pay them an hours diagnostics, this will allow you to rule in or out the local Skoda dealers work.

If it can be proven that the dealer is at fault then present Skoda UK with your evidence which should provide you with the weight required to force them to fix it and they can then compensate you for the diagnostics and extra hassle.

Once sorted email VOSA with your experience.

i have not heard about this however the injector falt was shorting to earth none leaking that i know about nor have i had any info from vwg about this sorry mate
