Toyo Proxes Ti Tyres

Featured Replies

My Elegance 1.8t has now covered 20k miles and the original Dunlop 2000e tyres are just about on the tread wear indicators at the front.

But having had the mis-fortune of picking up a large nail in a rear tyre which has damaged the side wall due to heat build up my hand has been forced so it looks like 4 new tyres....gulp.

Having read previous threads on this and other sites Ive seen that the Toyos have fairly good reports.

So taken the price, best quote

the toyos are good tyres.. std on tvr these days...

Agreed good tyres

stuart, your pics are up...

I have 'em and I like 'em!

Very good, exteremly high wear rating! till you put em on the ground...

They grip very well, fairly quiet, soft shoulders but I like them, they give good turn in and I've infrequently surpassed there grip points on pulic roads, except where I push the laws of phyisc's in a big way!

Depends on budget, driving and so on. I choose them for the reviews by scoobie owners, would I choose them again; not sure, maybe not. But thats in no way a detrimental comment.

I rate Toyo T1-S.

I had them on my subaru after Bridgestone stopped making the SO2.

Great grip in both wet and dry + nice progressive break away. Break away point was slightly lower than the SO2's but more predictable and controllable.

Possibly a bit over the top on an elegance

Agree with your findings. On my Scoob I tried the SO3 after the SO2 are they were absolutely useless, the car tramlined everywhere so I changed to the Toyo's & they seemed nearly as good as the SO2.

I now have them on the 4x4 for about a week. I have not pushed them to find the limit yet but they certainly give more grip & the biggest thing I noticed initially which may be of interest to you was how much less road noise they give compared to the Pirelli's

Thanks for your replies. Looks like the Toyo's for me

I was expecting continentals on my diesel estate but when I picked it up it had Bridgestone Turanzas on it. I've been quite impressed with them over the first 5000 miles. They seem to grip well when pushing hard into corners but I haven't really had a chance to try them out properly in the wet. Next door neighbour has just put a set on his A3 and is also impressed.

I have the Bridgestones on my Superb, and agree they hang on well, riding nice and great grip in the wet. However they are a bit on the noisey side..

Andy

Can't be as noisey as the Dunlop's on my vRS - it's horrendous - can't wait to change my wheels - although getting some silly quotes.

Dave,

Re wheels try South West Tyres, Tel 01275 335830. I found them much cheaper than anyone else I could find & they throw in a set of lock nuts & gave a good price on tyres.

They do mail order & carry a massive range

Stuart

Would agree on the noise of the Dunlops.

Trying out Pirello PZero Rossos at the moment.

Nothing's over the top for an elegance! :D

Currently on Dunlop Sp3000A which were on from new. Have done over 20k now and still have some tread left, although the edges are rather sctrubbed.

Tyre noise may be a problem, but wouldn't know since Rob told me about the infinity speaker upgrade and I do the 'STIG' thing.
