What don't u like about your Fabia vRS????

Featured Replies

Just like the title says. e.g. light colour seats, rattles, stereo etc.....

It handles like a barge, among other little things.

Sundry interior rattles - worse than the Renault and the Citroen I've had before (although probably easily fixable if I could be bothered - unlike the more serious problems with my French cars). Slightly better handling would be nice too, like has already been said...

Other than that, I really am a very happy shopper!

Brakes could be better - good intial bite & stopping at low speeds but could be better for longer braking @ higher speeds.

Handling could be better - naturally, with a heavy nosed FWD car you get heavy understeer if pushed into a corner too fast. Sometimes find it a bit wobbly thro' tight twisty bits.

The above are by no means bad, just something that could be sorted out with a few hundred quid.

Had no issues at all with rattles (except gear lever rattle, which was sorted with new linkages under warranty) or interior.

Bloody gear lever rattle!

Maybe the brakes could be abit better, it does get twitchy under heavy braking but as said before that's because it's a nose heavy car.

personal I think it handles very well and doesn't rattle that much at all compaired to other car in it's CLASS

Is the class you see it in defined by price or performance? ;)

Not had anything that couldn't be resolved by a trip to the dealer (and yes, for free ;))

Brakes when I just got the car scared the hell out of me, they definitely needed bedding in.

Handling is fine for a warm hatch, ditto for brakes once bedded in. Some things are easily resolved at a low cost though :)

Only 1 real complaint - The SEAT COLOUR

They look really nice - IN A SHOW CAR.

Come on, for practical day to day use whoever thought of actually putting them in, obviously lives on a different planet, or does not sit in a car day to day.

My suggestion would be a Mid Grey leather.

Anyone any other ideas ?

I change gear far too often for my liking

That would be beacuse it's a diesel ;)

My only complaint is the number of chavs that own one.

i have to drive nicely for 1k miles

I was meaning the rattles more than handlering! either way for price or speed it beats all the rest.

Yeah ok the Pug 206 was more entertaining to drive but it was dire in every other way. The seat has a harder set-up and felt more sporty, but I want a cruiser for the motorway so the fabia was the perfect mix. be honest with yourself what do you really want for a

The car does understeer like hell as helpmedisappear put it. But ever since after putting the strut it has improved alot.

The car does stick to the ground and have enough turn to the car from the outside to the inside by turning the wheel but with the problem of roll. I think the tyres needs some changing too. They do slip a lot.

Rolls too much imho. Suspension needs sorting it out.

Braking: hmm ive been braking quite late lately (say about 100yrds), gear change and braking at the same time shouldnt be a problem.

Like everybody else, the seats need some colour changing.

Apart from that the car is excellent all around especially for

To be honest, there wasnt much I didnt like about it.

Seat colour: Well I think people get a bit too upset about this, i was never that gentle with my car, and the seats remained in excellent condition, and looked good. The drivers seat creaked a lot, that was the only complaint about the seats.

Handling / Braking: I actually think this was pretty good considering. The soft springs did mean a slight amount of wallow, but it also meant excellent grip. Brakes werent bad at all, but they did struggle with the weight of the car at very high speeds (100 mph +).

My main beef with it was the suspension was way too high. The narrow powerband took some getting used to as well (2,000 - 4,000 rpm in reality) - it wasnt all that satisfying to thrash.

Also, the car is clearly not as quick as standard as some people seemed to think it was - the performance was comparable to the average 2.0 car IMO.

The same car with a 1.8T engine would have been an interesting proposition.

No rear courtesy light and brakes!!!!

And probably faster than the Octy, which is why it was never made, if some people are to be believed! ;)

Regarding understeer, I always felt that it was easy to make it understeer, IF you drove it round corners in the wrong gear. I always felt keeping the revs up just as you would in a petrol car overcame this. Its just that at first, it 'feels' wrong.

and now it feels right!!! Corners really well. If u keep up the revs up. I dunno I think I do drive it like a petrol car. Revs up, playing with the throttle and two hands on the wheel and turn!

The Bloody great dent i put in the sill on the driverss side....

Other than that i don`t see what you`re all maling a fuss about. :)

Love the car I think for the money you cant go wrong, Ive had nothing about it which I dont like...

...However if I did have a gripe, it would be the handling.

Although there is a significant weight difference between the two the 1.4 Civic I had as a curtousy car handled like it was on rails compared to the Furby... Again I dont class that as a fair comparison though...

Anywho handling will be increased come this Saturday ;)
