Car Shakes at Idle

Featured Replies

My car shudders at idle quite badly but as soon as you turn the aircon on the shudder goes away about 90%.  No idea what it is.

Injectors!

I have 4 replaced in my car and it was really smooth - Only lasted 3 months and it slowly came back so i got rid!

How much of a nightmare are the injectors to change.  Am i right in thinking that their proper coin as well.

Sorry just seen this sorry.

Not sure how much of a nightmare, I kept taking the car back to the dealer who were replacing endless parts trying to fix the issue. Inside that engine bay most of it must be new parts but it still did it and it were something I just could not live with..

Were fine when the engine were cold

Worse when the needle started moving to hot

Unpredictable when at temp unless facing uphill and it would do it all the time

A/C lessened the shaking as did the rear heated window

I honestly would have another tomorrow though if I were guaranteed it would not shake on me! Really miss that car :/

Sounds odd but is the fan and motor ok?

Hi,

Would like to revive this topic as some of the stuff discussed on here sounds a little bit similar to my car. The car when it is cold and just start occasion after I have moved off and then stopped at a traffic light and the car is out of gear, the engine sounds like it is revving slightly or groaning is maybe more of an accurate description. When it is doing this the revs are up at 1050 rpm and normally the at idle they would sit at 890 rpm. If I turn the engine off and on it normally clears the noise and it goes back to normal.

The other thing I have noticed recently is a sort of grunting noise when I press the clutch down to change up and down gears and again this seems to be happening when the car is cold/just started. Unsure if the two are related.

Any thoughts on this, I am wondering if it something to do with the fuel injectors and whether spraying water into the air intake as mentioned earlier might make a difference?

Thanks

Gavin

Hi,

I had Skoda Octavia 2013 (diesel), that had the same issue. Now changed to fabia which is fed on petrol, I am having same but worse idling. Is the idle issue is omnipresent with skoda? Thanks
