I was running with the assistance of Runtastic on mt Blackberry Torch, however it irritated me on a few levels - the phone is not small and not easily held in a pocket. If you do squeeze it in (ooer), then it tends to lock itself out and stop recording progress - particularly annoying when on a longer run and on checking the screen after a considerable time out, you find it frozen at 250m and a couple of minutes...

Now, I just bought a Nike+ iPod cell and adaptor - put the cell (about the size of a £2 piece, stretched) into the trainer sole cavity and plug the iPod receiver into the charging outlet. It loads programmes, playlists, records progress etc.

I am unsure of accuracy (I used it today and it went wibble a bit) and yesterday on the treadmill (hard to guage accuracy of either), but I am pleased with the packaging and new toy.

Anyone else use anything like this? IF so what do they use? GPS? Phone app?

I used the Nike+ with iPhone app whilst running on a treadmill (Until my treadmill broke) and it took 3 or 4 runs to get it calibrated correctly.

I liked the stats it would give you on the nike web site, distances, times, how often you ran on which day etc.

You could also sign up for training schedules which I found really useful.
