I am not an exhaust specialist or even fluid mechanics specialist either, but from the very basics that I can remember, unless there is some mechanism inside (someone already mentioned a valve) to create a difference in pressure then the majority of gasses will normally go out through the straight part. On the other hand it looks very awkward to have been just designed as we assume it is so we'd better wait for the official reply.

The gasses will through the part where the least resistance is.

Practically, the gases are forced through the "green" ones where on my exhaust there is a y-connection which splits the gas bang on in the middle (creating equally sooty pipes).

What setup do you have confide?

Just thinking out loud here but wouldn't the gasses flowing around the shorter side of the bend travel faster than the outside thus creating a vacuum behind it drawing more gasses through that side?

Whats that miltek canny make an exhaust lol hehe

A Y piece would have been easier and cheaper as no weld to make a Y like in current design

next rear silencer will be this design,

Very nice, but would it be too loud if your got rid of the silencer at the back and have just pipe?? but then again them silencer's do look sexy :p

whats the definition of too loud ?

a friend from fuerte had all his silencers removed on a race track only exhaust system

Got any vids of your system in action?

Collect my apr stage 2 around dinnertime today, forge front mount IC, custom intake using oem box with panel filter and full TB milltek decat, should be fun!

Booked in for rolling road middle of next month to see the final figures as this will be the final mod power-wise I will be doing to the car! :)

How come awesome aren't doing it on their rollers when the map is loaded? Me personally i dont like handing over my money until i know that everything is working hunky dory.

Tel them loads of guys on the forum are asking for dyno proof of the figures because APR dotn have any stage 2 graphs for viewing lol.

Perhaps Milltek will bow to pressure, sense, gas flow chaaracteristics and offer a tailpipe similar to the MK1 Fabia vRS i.e. a larger single trim filling the diffuser gap?

Or just have a bended beginning to center the pipe and then the Y on that ;).

Is the Design maybe based on the Venturi Tube Principles, or more simply 'Grannies Chimey',

it gets 'draw' from the second tube?

george

Edit,

my Mistake it looks more like it is possibly a play on Bernoulli's Principals on Flow and Length of flow around a curve.

The ecu had to be removed because the ignition has a cut off after 5 minutes which kept interrupting the map loading

The exhaust and map came as a package which I couldn't refuse so I'd technically already paid when I got my hands on the exhaust system.

I will be back at awesome gti for rolling road next month so if there is anything a miss I'll be having words :)

Confide, your exhaust sounds ace pal!
