Group Buy On Eibach Springs?

Featured Replies

Just wondering....?

I'm planning on buying an eibach lowering "pro-kit" for my Fabia, within the next six weeks or so. ( Ready for September run! :D )

I'm planning on going to www.msport.co.uk which seems to be the cheapest for the springs concerned. I was just wondering if any other Scud owners were thinking of doing something similar soon, and whether a group buy could perhaps save all who plan a tenner or so...?

I don't know if someone has a contact deep within the walls of msport.co.uk, but I may approach them via email/phone if I get some interest...

Let me know anyone who fancies this. ( and who, like me, can't afford a complete suspension mod  )

Cheers

Hi Jason,

Yes sounds good - I am up for a Pro Kit for a Octavia Estate TDi if we can get a deal going.

John.

Thats one... any more? I'm going to drop a courtesy email to them, just to enquire.

Jason,

Got my Eibachs from msport and had no problems - they even changed the delivery address for me after I'd ordered so it would come to my office and not home - got the impression they're pretty decent, so just drop them an email!

Hmm. Might be interested. Would have to find someone local to fit them. I'm somewhat confused by the array of springs available for the Octy, some at

I'm getting my mechanic mate to stick them on for me. I know he'll do a good job, so I'm happy to let him do the work. He'll also flick the old ones back on quick-time if I have any car-trouble in the future... :)

Edited: Just looked at impreziv.co.uk and they don't break down their eibach springs into each model / engine like msport do. They'd need a phone call I think.

I was also looking at the poly bushes

What advantages do the bushes have? Should I get some for my Eibachs?

For me, there's way too much play in the L&K's steering (my old Mondeo beats the pants off it for steering feel). Stiffer springs will help, but I suspect that keeping everything strapped tightly together would also give me more of the 'feel' that I am looking for.

I think Jon has had the poly bushes fitted to his, so I guess we'll have to wait for his opinion.

Cheers,

Jon? Opinion? Never!

Am waiting to hear if I should order me some of them there bushes...

Steve,

Do you know of anyone N Essex/Cambrideshire where I could get aforementioned springs/bushes etc. ftted??

Cheers,

Howard - I got mine fitted by my dealer - Hayes Garage of Clacton who I tend to use for anything I want done, even if it's cheaper elsewhere...

Impressiv is sarf essex, isn't it? They'd be able to do it I expect...

Howard - anyone with some basic tools can fit springs on an Octavia, even me!! Try your local garage/tyre fitter etc ....

Its probably not worth going for poly bushes, Fabia owners.

From the advice of Elton at Jabbasport, its not worth doing unless you are a real track addict.

Cheers Matt :)

Jason, Talk to Disco, I gather he has a special offer on Eibachs at the moment :D

Can I ask whats the advantage fitting these Eibach Springs? I might be interested if it makes any difference.

I am led to believe these springs a) lower the car by 30mm, and B) stiffen up the suspension, which I guess helps for body-roll through corners at speed..?

Cheers, Jon - I'll drop Disco a PM.

Anyone who wants to look at the website www.msport.co.uk - just find the eibach "pro-kit" page for Skodas.

PS: I've dropped msport an email about a group buy - no reply yet, but they're doing server work so probably have no emails at all getting through...

Just a quick update

I have sent an email to www.wallaceperformance.co.uk who advertise Eibach pro-kits, but I am not sure what will happen as I get the feeling they're Vauxhall specialists. Pah!

No news from msport.co.uk yet, or any response from Disco. (I'm sure he's a busy chap)

I believe Disco's on holiday.

Aaah! That would explain it then. Cheers.

After reading your comments on Briskoda forum regarding the discounted group buy of Eibach springs. Did you know that Jabba sport is an approved stockist and fitting centre. We would be happy to offer a large discount for any group buy, and I am certain we could beat any price you have been quoted. If you have any details with regards an order please e-mail me and I will arrange a quotation.

Just had the Eibachs and Konis fitted by Jabbasport and I'm well chuffed! (Welcome to the forums Jabbasport btw!)

PS Jason if you go with the Eibachs, make sure you get the ones specially rated for the TDi.

Excellent. Just down the road for me, then. How many are up for this? How much difference do you think is attached to the springs and how much to the new shocks?

Umm, sorry - so many questions. Getting quite enthusiastic now!

Cheers,

(edit: sorry, Welcome to Briskoda, Jabbasport!!)

Having had the H&R springs before, i can say that the new set up is tons better.

Its difficult to say how much is down to the new shocks, but it feels like they are better matched to the springs. The car feels much more alert.

Ride is quite firm although not harsh, but Elton at Jabba reckons they to slacken off a bit with use.

I think stimps has the Eibach springs with standard shocks btw.

Is it worth fitting springs with just a pooey 1.4 8v :(.
