TIBET II Takes To The Hills

Featured Replies

Nice, very nice.

Really like the colour.

Hello stranger! I like your style mate, very nice indeed. I'll be interested to hear your opinion on any build and handling/ride changes between Tibet 1 & 2. Best of luck with it. :-)

Fear not, I'm still around! 250 miles done yesterday and a few more today. Build quality is certainly as good as #1. There are a few control differences like main beam (returns back to neutral and then you pull on the stalk to go back to dipped) and I may just be old and forgetful but was there an instrument brightness control last time...?! This one is on Dunlops rather than the Goodyears - seem fine and possibly quieter than before.

Hi aero,

very nice new Monster you have there, looks ultra B)

Oh and no your not loosing the plot, my MY11 has a roller 'switch' for brightness; take it if you don't have one, then like our MY11 Fabia II it's been cost cut of the spec on Yeti MY13 :( :wonder:

Regards,

TP

Hi TP

This one does have the roller switch TIBET I, didn't. Oh, and I have folding mirrors but not, as far as I can see, an auto-dimming drivers door mirror (interior still does). Good to see others like it too, it was a bit of a gamble but based on the original picture, I hoped it would look okay.

At least I'll be able to find this one in the snow :giggle:

Stunning! Happy New Yeti-ing!

Looks great, the black roof really sets it off.

is it a sold black or pearlescent?

how long from ordering to delivery?

cant tell from the pic but did you order a sunroof?

Looks great. I'm sure it looks even better in the metal.

Certainly different to the Candy white! I know what you mean about finding it in the snow. Not that is much of a problem down here

Looks very, very smart!!! Did you get a towbar again? And it is an Urban so zero options? Or is it a run of the mill Yeti with Urban bits? Enjoy!

Colour scheme looks good, nice one. There seems to be a few on here that are replacing an older Yeti with a new Yeti. Hard to get a better recommendation than that.

Apologies misunderstood your post, strange your first didn't have the roller switch, as 'Pat' had the feature :wonder:

Do you have the elec seat; under the impression that the dimming wing mirror only comes with that option now :wonder:

Oh yes the snow, remember well the photos you posted of TIBET I ploughing efforts at work; should have left it to the MT guys in the bowser pool :giggle:

It was probably me just not seeing the dimmer on TIBET I, TP...

Roof is metallic black and nicely done - neatly masked line inside the tailgate for instance. It has a roof:

The initial order was placed at the end of 2011 to avoid disappointment and I could have had it earlier. I wanted a MY13 and then a September delivery worked for all.

Johann, the towbar was swopped over from TIBET I by Allams although with a new loom to make sure the electrics were compatible. I think it was your picture that was the first view of the Matterhorns from Geneva that made me want a set!

Other than that it isn't an Urban, just a (RotM!) CR170 with Matterhorns (and roof, satnav, towbar prep, sound system upgrade, tyre pressure monitor, heated screen etc). Wheel centre caps and some other bits are through Superskoda (great service).

No hesitation in buying another as it does everything I want and more.

TIBET I had a drivers seat squab heater failure (sorted by Allams) and a DPF sensor which started causing it too regen 3 times in 3 days, then the light stayed on. Skoda Assistance promptly sorted that out with a call out to work - new (Malaysian built, not USA) sensor fitted. Couldn't fault their service.

Really liking this - top spec and all beautifully integrated

Annoyed the roof wasn't an option when I ordered mine - I'm still delighted, ticks all the boxes for me and has a surprising turn of speed when the mood takes me.

The car certainly deserves better support than Skoda UK seem able /prepared to provide - I mean how long have we been waiting for a definitive answer on the tow bar prep - unflipping believable :wall:

Brilliant! And even better than you CAN get Matterhorns as an option!! But you mention "wheel centre caps"? Why? I can't really see what is different?

Arent they the new ones with the new black and silver Skoda logo on?

They certainly look like the new logo

I really like that colour Aero.

Nice combination of black roof and materhorns. Sets the bronze off very well.

Alas, to the best of my knowledge, the Matterhorns are not an option. I ordered the car with standard Spitzbergs and when I visited it for the first time, it was surrounded by Urbans. As per the original picture by Johnan and then the accessories brochure came out, I knew what was needed to really make a difference.

If anyone wants a set of brand new Spitzbergs, then contact Allams.... Oh, and TIBET I was sold yesterday having only been delivered there on Saturday! And yes I know Spitzbergs and Matterhorns are 17s so the work of the devil  but I can only cope with the Mister Softee 16s for 3 months of the year when the steelies and winters are on....

The centre caps are the new logo ones (again through Superskoda). I have the CityGo one for the bonnet but haven't been brave enough to suss out how to get the top of the radiator grill off to change the badge. Then I just have to wait for the 110mm (?) one for the tailgate. Nothing against the green original Skoda logo, it's just I like the black/silver/bronze combination.

One torx bolt, gently pry away adhesive and the bonnet badge is off - no need to remove anything else!

5 minute job

Roger, that. Sounds like a plan, deep breaths and carry on. I shall report back. Thanks, MM...!
