Bulbs

Featured Replies

I fancy some different bulbs for my fabia vrs 2005 but don't want to spend a fortune on hid kit is there anywhere u can get decent bulbs or even a kit fairly cheap ?

Ebay

If looking for a whiter light then I can recommend these bulbs XTec H7 Super Whites

When passing other cars white xenon's / HID's the light colour isnt much different though they are not quite as powerful.

Bulbs - some of the supermarkets are doing a nice line in spring bulbs for planting. Lamps- as posted above :giggle:

I've got MTEC Cosmo Blue, they're pretty good. Not too blue / chavvy with a decent output too :)

Do you happen to be a fellow electrician, winds me up also!

Osram night breakers give a good amount of light over standard.

I've got Osram Night Breaker Plus and they seem okay, light is definitely whiter than OEM bulb (sorry, lamp). If you want a blue/xenon/HID look, then I think Philips Blue Vision are supposedly decent. This Auto Express product test from last yearrecommends Autolamps Cobalt II and Navra Range Power Blue+

Same all over the electrical field. But I tend to forgive our non electrical friends for lack of knowledge.

I just got a pair of Osram Nightbreaker Plus from Europarts for £18. If you spend over £20 and use discount code PARTS25 you get 25% off too! Huge improvement over the standard bulbs.

Cheers mate I will take a look

They do the Bosch Aero wiper blades as well. Just changed mine to them today.

+1 on the Nightbreakers. Done both dip & main with them on mine. I love how the packet clearly states "won't last as long as normal bulbs, due to the increased light output"

Phillips do a good set too - can't remember which version but they've got 5 stars on the front of the pack.

Bulbs grow in the ground, lamps are what gives out light

They are interchangeable in English language, although sometimes one fits better than the other:

"I need a new bulb for my lamp." Or "I need a new lamp for my lamp."

Light bulb is in the oxford dictionary, doesn't need to be called a lamp necessarily.

Just an electrical thing, as we say "bulbs grow in your garden"

I used uprated H7s (Nightbreakers/ etc) but it cost a fortune because they only lasted a few months, so I went the other way and bought some long life lamps from eBay. They are OK and certainly give more light than one Nightbreaker - and no trouble with looking like a motor cycle or getting pulled over.

The key to using Osram Nightbreakers is only to go for the Plus version. I've had mine two years and they've been fine - it's the non-Plus versions that don't last (and are cheaper...)

If you go to a shop and ask for a lightlamp they look at you funny.
