My TomTom sat nav lives inside the dash top box. It was easy to fit, and I have rubber fitted pads in the lid hinges to stop it opening to its full extent. When i need a Sat nav, I open the lid, pivot up the unit and the lid sits just over the top making an excellant sunshade for the screen. £140 quid, why pay for a built in one. I also would not want to be looking down at the mazidot or radio all the time to see directions, TomTom perfectly posituioned to see without looking down. I do have to pull the wire out of the box and plug into the lighter to power the traffic receiver, (aerial fitted behind the windscreen trim), but someone on here did a thread about completing this installation with a wire power supply from the fusebox.

I can easily remove the unit to update the maps, and it will come out when the car is returned to the lease company. Take out the pads in the hinges, refit the original mat over the fixing holes in the box bnottom, and no-one will ever know it was there when the car goes back.
