Beware, Yetis breed!

Featured Replies

On Saturday morning I noticed a new beige SM on a drive 100 yds from my front door. "Hope they don't breed" quips SWMBO.

Sunday morning I opened the bedroom curtains and :wonder: there's a brand new candy white one on the road right outside my house!!! (Hetti sleeps on the drive). Not found out who the lucky new owner is yet but must be an immediate neighbour.

At 3 yrs 1 day old (registration birthday yesturday) and 48k odd miles Hetti's looking a bit long it the tooth by comparison.

[Note to self: must summon up courage to broach Hetti mk2 with SWMBO!!!]

Based on forum info, gestation period seems to be between five and seven months. :)

They certainly do.

Our one became two, my Mum up the road has one now and my cousin also has one arriving in three weeks...

...and most seem to be in season in March and September.

This would seem to be the case, and they seem to be multiplying more and more are released into the wild, at the dealers in Swindon earlier (for some paper work, nothing to do with Jana) there were four of them, only young cubs I think given 62 plates (not sure at what age the Yeti reaches maturity) I did keep an eye on Jana though as she may be in season after 6 months.

I've given mine a good talking to about having a sense of responsibility and the commitment required. At 20 months/14.5 k miles I'm sure about physical maturity but not confident about readiness for parenthood.

all skoda's breed, not just yeti's

our first octavia estate in 99 introduced an octavia hatch into family 6 months later

the estate went on a diet to reduce to a fabia 1.9sdi,

the sdi went on steriods to become a mk1 vrs in 2003

meanwhile the octavia hatch put on a bit of wieght to become a roomster in 2007

the roomster died earlier this year and re-encarneted itself as a fabia greenline 2 estate

and at the same time we welcomed a new montecarlo into the household for my daughter

so they not only breed but slim and fatten up to produce different models in the range

swmbo is waiting to see if skoda add the 1.2tdi to citigo with stop start then the mk1 vrs may regenerate again like dr who, who always seems to get younger so the 9 year old vrs may change into much younger citigo, but has to be a diesel

Very interesting observations about one particular strain. However ---

-- this might be a bit too much like gender selection IMHO :giggle:

I'm still trying to work out how?

And what position?

I'm sending myself to the corner!

Are we concerned about our Yeti mating habits?

Once in a while something thought impossible happens, a while ago allegedly theory suggests a little randy Felicia mated with a Fiat Multipla and spawned a one off Flabia, unfortunately the offspring had complications and was a tad overweight and died during registration with acute electrical problems. However not all cross pollination causes such heart wrenching results, a frisky young Fabia being raised at the factory 'got out' and danced with an Octavia spawning a whole new generation of Roomster that survived and went on to breed a whole new wonderful Skoda family.

Now with Yetis we may also have to think about how they behave when the lights are out ... after all what would happen if a petrol successfully mated with a diesel, would it end up a "Weasel" needing two fuel tank drips with behavioral issues and regular fixes? Or a 4x4 and a FWD, would we end up with a 3WD? Such experiments are frowned upon. Nature of course has informed Skoda that such chances of such oddities occurring are extremely low.

What we do know is that two black cars may produce a white car and 2 white cars may produce a ginger (the wonderful Bronze colour (beware this can have a temper)) actually insufficient evidence is available on the Yeti skin colour regardless of the paint of the parents :giggle:

i thought yeti's were like the old martini advert

anytime, anyplace , anywhere , due to their rough rugged nature and 4 wheel drive

or do some of them have the "lynx effect" to other yeti's

best keep them chained down so they don't wander for a midnight rendezvous

one final thought, how do you work out if a car is male or female? (if it's tempramental its female?? does this also mean big engines in all models are safe as they are impotent? like BMW and porches?)

i will now go sit in the naughty corner

Update, Flabias parents were devastated, one joined a monastery (VW) the other joined a strip club and is allegedly in a relationship with a member of the Seat family.

Yetis like other cars hide their genitalia to the general population for privacy reasons or they would all be red.

and there was me thinking you could tell by size and shape of the exhaust pipe

After a whisper to Jana after the dealer visit today (nothing to do with Jana although like a cat off to the vet she was very nervous) you can't always go by the size and number of 'zorst' outlets, you have to beware of cars cosmetic surgery made by some yeti owners. Some Yetis are not entirely comfortable with this sort of mod to their 'bits'

And there's always the unexpected result of cross breeding....

Harry, our Yeti Tdi, got a bit drunk on petrol, sneeked into veRaS bedroom and took advantage of her.

8 weeks later we had to Go to Citi hospital where a cute bundle of fun was delivered.

We named her Candy.

We were a little concerned at first, as mum is black and dad is brown, to have an albino in the family.

It was slightly more worrying to discover that she appeared to have an irregular heartbeat but the specialist reassured us that it was normal. He also advised us that this would cause her voice to get raspy when exerting herself.

She doesn't seem to take in as much fluid as she should but there is no sign of dehydration.

She is quite mature for her age, shows confidence and is not stuck Up like her half sister.

Very interesting observations about one particular strain. However ---

no, just saying has to be a smoker like her vrs mk1, but the new diesel don't smoke as much so harder to tell

:giggle: After two weeks in Cuba I come back to find nearly 3 pages of reading to catch up on, its good to see that all aspects of the yeti are still being seriously debated as normal  .

The only thing that is a bit worrying is that BOB has not been involved, have i missed something :wonder: has he been sent to the corner and not been let out. Or has he turned over a new leaf :giggle: :wonder:

Come to think of it, I don't think he's been around while you have been away.

He didn't sneak into your suitcase on the way out did he?

:wait: that could explain why one case was so heavy  , and I blamed SWMBO for packing the kitchen sink

With March and September seemingly being when most Yetis are registered, he may be busy delivering the new cubs :giggle:

Went into town earlier and found a red 62 sm snuggled up to Snowy when we came back from coffee!

does this mean a new arrival imminent, as the thread says "yeti's breed"

If it was a 62 it's still a cub, maybe was just trying to suckle?
