None orange indicator bulbs

Featured Replies

Looking to get rid of the 'fried egg' look from the fronts and rear on the Sport, anyone got any recommendations on which bulbs to order?

Just had a little look on eBay and there is a huge price difference from a couple of quid each, upto like £10 each.

So what's everyone else using?

Cheers

John

  • I have Diadems fitted all round. Have used them on other cars and like the look. I've never noticed a difference in brightness between them and OEM.

  • As already mentioned be warned that these bulbs aren't as bright as standard. As much as I prefer the non-fried egg look I much prefer brighter indicators.

  • I hear what your saying silver mate, but they must be visable enough as they are fully e marked etc.

I had a set of Silvatec bulbs in my fab, I found they were nowhere near as bright as the normal orange bulbs so decided that being seen indicating was preferable...

Cheers lads

I hated the Fried Egg look and fitted Philips Silvervision back and front.

Fantastic difference!

I guess it's personal preference.

This is a good example of how much dimmer they are, the right hand side is standard...

Then you have this effect on headlight (someone elses picture)

Then I scrapped off the lower parte on the silver bulb and put them on my Renault headlight

Thanks for that pic mate, I've ordered 2 packs.

One for fronts and one for rears.

A little bit pricey, but they clearly are bright enough in use and look excellent when turned off.

Looking forward to them turning up and getting them fitted.

Just won't tell the lads on the rank how much I've just spent on some indicator bulbs :-)

Mine are plenty bright enough too, not done a comparison but they flash absolutely fine. Beemers don't use them at all so I wouldn't worry ;)jokes

What side bulbs do you need/use?

Well worth the money, I have to say - you get what you pay for :)

They last as well - my set have been transferred between numerous VAG vehicles!

Sidelight bulbs you mean? W5W fitment and plenty of choice, e.g. http://www.powerbulbs.com/store/search/w5w - I like Philips Bluevision ones myself.

But we're talking indicator bulbs here.... :)

^ yeah I meant side indicator bulbs

Or side repeaters ...... brain fail

PY21 in that case. Offset pins.

Lol and what bulbs are in the oval side repeaters in the wings please?

:giggle:

Take another look at your wings!

The repeaters on the Octavia are built into the wing mirrors and are already LED.

Doh I was thinking of my Ibiza...... I'll get my coat
