Xenon colour pictures

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just retrofitted my Xenon HID kit when I was looking into purchasing these couldn't find any threads to see how they would look so thought I'd post pictures of how 4300k look...

Would be great if members can post pictures of different colour HID kits so members looking into purchasing can get an idea of what they look like.

My feedback on these are that I was originally looking for an OEM look so bought the 4300k although would have preffered more of a blue tint in them.

Here are pictures below...

Yours look good, but what do you do about the dreaded MOT and self levelling please? I would love to have HID's in the Octavia and I imagine they aren't too bad to fit seeing as the headlights come out so easily

Mike

Thanks for the response, I had HIDs in my old Civic as they were projector but the MOT station I used were quite friendly and like you say there are a few about that poo poo them so thanks for your response.

May I ask where you got yours from please?

Here is a pic I took of high/low beam 6000k's.

Cool, they are the same as the ones I found on another post. Cheers for your help today Mike although it could see me spending about £100 on bits for the car now :giggle:

These have halved in price since I got them! ARGHHH! Great value at £28.99. Two day delivery, with great feedback from the seller. Both my kits came from here, and andyvee has also just bought one of the same for his Octavia. These are a better kit than a lot of others as they have metal based bulbs. This item is the right one for your Octavia, and with the mini-ballasts, everything will be totally hidden and waterproof inside the casing of the headlight unit.

DO NOT get canbus friendly variety. Fit this one and get the car coded for xenons.

Mike

Mike, as these all fit in the headlight are they plug and play (other than coding). What I mean is, there's no drilling, soldering, wiring, etc involved?

Going to get these ordered, just need to find some side lights to compliment the colour

Assuming your profile is correct then you have a vRS?

The picture shows headlight washers.

Only vRS's with factory fit xenon headlights come with headlight washers, so how have you fitted an aftermarket HID kit?

Or have you glued on some washer caps for the OEM look!?

Got mine fitted and they do make a difference. I too need to sort the sidelight bulbs out!

Mike, would you know if these are also suitable for the facelift VRS ? I was at my local MOT station the other day getting my good lady's car MOT'd and asked about these HID kits and got a similar positive responce as others above had so quite fancy taking a punt on a set of these.

Absolutely.

But just to be double sure these are the ones I fitted to me FL last year with no problems.

They look to be an identical kit.

I put the 5k bulbs in but on hindsight I would say the 4300 would be better light as the 5k is slightly too blue for me.

Hence I will be ordering/fitting the 4300 to my new car in 3 weeks time,

Cheaper than factory fit option!

Washers can be spec'd on new car with no xenon's

Perhaps in Ireland but not in the UK.

Maybe it's because I'm on my mobile, but I can't tell any difference between the two sets?

The reason I ask is I have an LE - appears to be FL on the inside and pre FL on the outside. Leaves me with no idea which set to go for......

Should make no difference.

They are all H7 bulbs. Just ensure whichever set you get is Non Canbus and also Metal based bulbs.

Xenon 4300k with LED Can-Bus Side lights

Where did you get your side lights from please?

See, HIDs in projectors is good :)

Mike is bang on, 4300k is generally perceived to be "pure white" and will actually give you the greatest "amount of light" out of the front of your car. Above that it goes blue and the perceived output drops; below and it turns yellow and the perceived output drops.

Should make no difference.

I thought there were problems coding xenon with shutters on FL?

Also is it just VCDS that can code xenons in? I have a take Audi tech who would be willing to do I with his stuff if possible. Can dealers to it? If so could an Audi dealer do it?

Finally, is this overwritten by ECU flashes/software updates?

My Main dealer did it for me. I will ask what was done and come back to you.

All bits on order, soon to be in possession of Phillips blue vision side lights and 4300 HID kit from eBay. Looks soo much easier to fit than the last time I did this.

Now the lights will be done, remap, parrot kit in. I think that's me done

I keep saying that -- until the next little project I think of. Will drop you a PM!

Mike

:giggle:

These days I don't have that much time, I desperately need to solder my wife's ipod connector as one of the cables has come loose in the car due to movement in the glove-box. I have known this for a week, but hopeful I can sort it this weekend
