hi milky-vrs just checked and i used wynn's fuel injection and carb cleaner purchased from halfords, its just to degrease the oily deposits, sounds like a poor design as i've had other turbo diesel cars and they didnt have this problem. i checked the egr valve and seems not to have the built-up of oily gunk any more, i'm putting it down to the car being a mummies car, short driving and not letting the turbo run at idle after parking up and could be regular oil changes, changed twice in 10k. hope this is of any help.

But like jonny5ive has decribed what to clean out, so glad i cleaned out the pipework, i didnt clean the intercooler think i might do it soon.
