What BossFox's Mk1 project would've looked like :)

Featured Replies

So it seems that Skoda built a one off special...

It's very similar to what BossFox's mk1 project would have looked like if completed :)

Mk1 body, with the widebody rally kit - in Race Blue - on the Mk5 Golf 4x4 chassis, with the 2.0 TFSI engine from the Octy vRS/Golf GTI

No idea what power it's running, but I'd give my left arm to own this.

You can see it's a Golf underneath - have a look at the bottom half of the interior :)

This was at one of their "special" warehouses in the middle of nowhere that Skoda kindly let us have a nose around :)

Very nice! Amusing seeing it as a combination of Fabia and Octy2/Golf bits :D

Looks to have the Octy climate unit, but is then Fabia at top of the centre console

Also on Pegasus wheels - nice to see the 2.0T unit fits nicely under there though.

All that effort and they used the ****test wheel EVER!

What interests me the most about this is the lack of vRS parts on there Which makes me wonder if it ever so slightly predates it.. perhaps the 1st mule built when the idea of rallying was kicked about?

Is this what the vRS could have been if thing's had gone differently?

Golf clocks crammed into the binnacle, lol.

I've actually seen this before, but only 1 pic and no info.. assumed it was a home-brew, now I'm pleasantly surprised ;)

Wow this is awesome! Did you take these pics Sam?

Bold statement. Not seen very many alloy wheels before then?

Seen a TSW Venom before? Or perhaps a suitably soft, badly manufactured 3-spoke? Now we're talking.

Its called "Exaggeration" , they are terrible wheels in my opinion, but oh wait i ament allowed an opinion now, cheers Wardy.

From now on dont have an opinion! Says Wardy

No need .........

I'd say it was never a VRS at all and just a normal Fab turned feral!

Some work into that thing! Steering column looks a bit rash sticking out like that too!

No vrs seats, spoiler or rear bumper... then it would have been awkard fitting it too those arches!

I like the Lupo mirrors however! :)

Oh yeh. Thought the mirrors looked smaller. Thought it was just that the body was bigger and made them look smaller.

Agreed. Don't think it was ever intended to be a vRS.

Reminds me of the VR6 Felicia.

I assume that it was after the vRS, as the mk5 cars were first released in 2004, and the vRS was in 2003.

According to our tour guide, this was the prequal to the vRS. Apparently it's a 2.0 engine, but whether it's turbo or N/A, I can't remember.

Has tartan seats like the GTI - and the buttons where ASR and heated screen is completely different.

Shame we couldn't open the bonnet on this one :(

There was also this - An original WRC car - which we opened up and had a nose about inside. Apparently it was never raced but was a backup car for McRae :)

Re-read Wardy's post and see where it says you can't have an opinion?

Didn't think so

Xenons on the dark blue fabia but no washers!!

I want that blue Fabia very much

Like the look of the black one inside, not a fan of all the cheap chrome crap but that seems to pull it off pretty well!

I cant tell if its got a chrome/white strip across the ashtray cover or if its just a camera flash or reflection??

Very jealous of the pictures, would love to have had a look around myself.

Nice looking pics/cars. Would love to go there myself. :)

Oooooh. I do like the Race blue wide bodied Fab. Could do with better seats though.

Looks like a brilliant place to visit

What I would do to see that WRC monster!

Very nice, I like the small mirrors on the blue Fabia. TFSI could be an interesting option.

Very nice Sam.

But I still think starting with a Citygo instead will result in more bhp per tonne. ;)

I bet they haven't got any of those knocking about yet...

i love oddball things like this - would love to go and see this place

edited to add - I agree, worst wheels ever
