Boast Gauge Problem!

Featured Replies

Hello

i just fitted a boast gauge to my car, (mk1 Vrs BLT Engine)

On idle the gauge needle Wobbles about?

Its fine when u rev the car and driving but wobbles on idel...

Anyidea why??????

Or how to fix it??

Cheers

boost gauge too sensitive, needs a resistance to smooth out the reading. Cheap way is use cable tie and restrict airflow till it stops vibrating. less cheap way is to use a valve regulator, regulates the amount of air flow into the boost gauge (few £).

does the needle go into the red if you say stuff like "im great i am"?

Few drinks tonight mate?? Lol

I use vacuum gauges to balance the throttle bodies on my motorbike. The use adjustable restrictors to stop the needle wobbles. They are the type of valve used to control the flow of air from the pump for an aquarium.

Should work for boost rather that vacuum.

Not boasting accurately enough then... One night it's 180bhp in the pub, next it's 170.... :sun:
