Help decoding Boost log 1.2 tsi (EPC periodic)

Featured Replies

Hi,

I thought i made this thread yesterday, but it seems it gone ?

I have en Octavia 2010 1.2 tsi.

2 years ago new chain kit fitted, and one year ago 4 new injectors, spark plugs, ht leads and coil renewed.

The other day i had a EPC and limp mode. Dissapeared after ignition on/off, but i made a boost log and i think the numbers are off ?

The red area is full throttle in 3. gear, and the green is the idle when pressing the clutch afterwards.

How can i more specific investigate ? I dont think the actuator arm is mooving ? When i did the testrun there was no EPC failure, and neither afterwards, and the car pulled as it should ?

Had a glance over your logs.  It looks like the actuator must be working as boost builds from 2000 rpm and tails off around 4500 rpm. That means the actuator is working doesn't it?  Why do you think it is not?

I'm not sure what absolute boost pressure is supposed to be on a 1.2Tsi but you need to remove atmospheric pressure about 1010 mbar. So by my reckoning your peak boost is about 12psi and sustained looks about 9 or 10psi which doesn't sound far from what I would expect. But I have no specific experience with the 1.2tsi.

Perhaps the actuator is sticking or not always working but is in this log?  Did the car feel normal in this log?
