Insurance, Skoda Car Insurance

Featured Replies

Hi All,

A quick question, has anyone used Skoda Car Insurance here?

They are significantly more expensive than the cheapest on the market (Admiral atm) but I was wondering if it is worth going with them as in case of any insurance repairs it will be (do they do it at Skoda Garages or farm out?) done by Skoda with original parts and by Skoda mechanics?

What do you think, or from experience?

Cheers

I took the 7 day free insurance last week, and after a phone conversation, was quoted a fairly competitive price for the Annual insurance. I didn't accept immediately and the price came down £50 within seconds.

Taking the benefits into account, (protected no claims, legal costs, courtesy car, etc) it finished up being VERY competitive! I've signed up.... and it takes effect AFTER the 7 days is up so 53 weeks for the cost of 52........

BonyTony.

I can not say for certain on 'Skoda insurance', but i think you will find that very few Car Dealerships have vehicle Body Repair & spray shops.

Vehicle body repair will be carried out by Authorised Vehicle repairers that are used by most of the Vehicle Industry.

(& might be better for that IMO)

These are Regional Centres & part of a 'Nationwide' Company.

You may have Local Independent Body shops that are contracted to carry out their work.

Work might be carried out Local & by a Local firm, Regional Centre near you or further away.

Best ask the Insurance company

http://www.national-arg.co.uk

These days, Vehicles can be transported anyplace in the country to have major or even minor repairs carried out.

In Scotland that can be to a very large repairer under the Friarton Bridge outside Perth.

Lease, Hire, Contract vehicles from all over the UK often end up there for repair.

The standard of work should always be back as to original and Guaranteed & should not be in anyway visible as a repair or reduce a vehicles value.

All works should be done by suitably qualified and competent repairers or suitably trained.

VAG repairs would cover Audi, VW, Skoda, SEAT, but the repairs can be done by any general repairer.

Specialist mechanical repairs are unlikely to be just a VAG requirement.

I think we all know that in practice thats not how it works out.

Best ask the Company via the Broker or directly with the Insurance Company who the actual repairers that would likely or that are contracted to do Insurance repairs.

Get that confirmed in writting, even if only be Email with a persons name and position in the Company

as some form of proof incase you ever need to get back to them on that.

Best phone & Email or use Snail mail & ask.
