Monte 1.6 CR Diesel - 141bhp :-)

Recommended Posts

Well its been 5 days now since my Monte 1.6 CR diesel was Revo'd  and I have to say, Wow why don't them come out of the factory like that, if like me you traded your 1.9 pd Fabia VRS in and your missing the poke then get your Monte remapped. Pulls like a train now and really is lots of fun to drive. Worth every penny IMO got it done while there was a Revo sale on so cost £386, I know there are other remaps out there but I had a Revo dealer 5 miles from where I work so that was the main factor in my decision. Power delivery is very smooth and strong, not tried to do an economy run yet as i'm still playing with the extra power. Highly recommend it.

That's great news, the dealership where I bought my Monte Carlo offer Revo and maintain the warranty so I've been meaning to get it done, just not had time.

141 is a good output though, they normal say its 135 :)

I have an elegance 105 cr. same engine. Did You have to modify any components or was it a straight remap?? Does it help with economy or just performance? <img src='http://www.briskoda.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/emoticon-0100-smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

They have to solder a chip to your ECU mainboard to break the security, then its a straight remap.

Any torque Figure available post remap? :-)

There are some power graphs on the Revo website:

This is not a true statement. The dealer will quiet happily sell you Revo, but the warranty after this has been done is not provided by Skoda but the dealer themselves through their own contacts. Whilst the dealer is in business this is all fine and no problem at all, however if the dealer goes bust or just closes down your warranty will also be gone. Also if your car breaks down and you cannot get it back to the dealer and have to go elsewhere the warranty is void.

Think very carefully about mapping in warranty, even if its from a main dealer.

A very good point and I suppose if it does go somewhere else and they find the cars been remapped, the new dealership can refuse to repair the car under warranty.

The question is, how easy is it to spot a remapped car and would the remap void warranty of other parts of the car, say a trim failure or other such like areas.

If that's true I don't think I'd fancy that tbh!

Soldering the ECU all sounds abit '90s

They don't have to solder a chip to the board. They have a tool that has metal probes which are placed on the ecu which makes the connection. All I would say is take it to an independant and get it checked as the Revo map on my Vrs has cost me alot of money to rectify the problems it caused. I may also need a new Turbo.

No mk2 dude. Was the first stage 2 fabia and the car misfires like a pig but never got recorded by the Ecu so was unaware it was happening until I live logged it. The afrs were so far out it was killing spark plugs every hundred miles or so. Due to running mmassivly rich lots of boost was needed to make power which seems to have knackered the Turbo. There's lots more to it aswell but I won't bore you but needless to say I will never go Revo again nor will I recommend them to anyone. Also take their bhp claims with a pinch of salt.

How did you guess. Basically told me my engine was cream crackered and there was no way it was the map and to stop ringing them. I think I gave them 3 or 4 chances to help rectify the problem which was quite clearly over fuelling. Afrs dropping into the 9s is just a dam joke. I did literally hours of testing with bkr 7 8 and 9iex plugs with both OEM and okada coil packs to get rid of the misfires but even the okada packs which have a 10x stronger spark couldn't ignite the fuel. 700 quid I didn't need to spend just to start with.

  • 2 weeks later...

JESUS WEPT..... This does not sound good, i was going to buy a 75bhp Fabia Elegance and then have it remapped to equal the higher 105 version.... but not so sure now. I had my PD105 2006 Elegance Fabia remapped but all done via the port.... non of this ecu touching etc, i did not know the newer 1.6 engines needed to be done this way.... i think i may just buy the higher 105 instead.
