What would one of these be like?

Or would they just blow up after 2 weeks?

Is the only thing you'd need to change the turbo intake pipe?

It would fall apart or blow.

Ive emailed them bout trying to get a casing and where there units are from. They are chinese copies.

Save yor money for a proper on

Cheers Billy, That's what I thought alright. What did the K04-001 come standard on?

yes have seen a couple of vf34 charger setups run on stock internals at around 320 without them blowing up (shame the same can't be ssaid for the turbo!), though i think a lot is down to owner care and how you drive, and importantly not thrashing the hell out of it all the time.

Religiously serviced every 3k, always warmed up and cooled down but did get its pants ripped down most the time as it was a pure toy.

On another note, ive drove a few ko3s powered 1.8 turbos with remaps and they drive really nice for back road sprints, id rather have a ko3s or hybrid ko3s that held the power higher in the revs than a laggy ko4 personally.

Looks like my power idea are down the toilet :(

Drat..... Maybe i'll move onto crazy wide rims ideas lol

I found out to that the later mk5 R32 are now £475 a year tax

I just couldnt do it :(

Thats redonkulous !!!!!!!!!! "Flush"

Sounds like a bargain.

In Ireland, road tax on the R32 would be €1683 per year.... I **** you not!

Buy a pre-2001 V6 or V8 car, then the tax is only something like £230 if its 1.6 litres or over. Or even better a massively polluting 60s or 70s car... and don't pay any tax at all as its "vintage".

The road tax system is a massive f@$king joke if you ask me

Yup hence wgy i was after a pre sept 01 e39 M5.

Mmmmm V8 noise........

I looked at mkv r32s a few years bk for the wife and found if you get a 55reg the tax is £175 less then the years after that its still alot but a fair saving for a car only 6 months older , oh and they munch fuel like no 2mora

Ive gave up that dream mate

The K04_001 is a std US spec turbo from what I can tell (was a offering to some high specc'd VW beetles)and is a direct bolt on to our manifolds. You then save from needing a downpipe change and manifold like you would with say the K04 from a Seat LCR or Audi TT.

Only point to make is these are not so well specc'd as the other KO4's and as Clives states will only product between 250-260 BHP.

So need to ask if the hassle is worth it.

I think if you go for 270-280 BHP that a typical K03s hybrid will get you you can keep most of your parts as is and you don't need stronger rods. You will need bigger injectors and remap though, but think of the fun.

This is where I am going.

Spot on advice, i would still pump for 300 on a hybrid turbo and stock internals, i you drive carefully it can be done, and worse case scenario a new bottom end is penuts, costs a LOT less than doing a forged lump!

Drive carefully :D lmfao

I had the following done to my vrs and seen 265bhp

AUQ enigne forge internals as standerd

Forged pistons

Ko3s turbo with ko4 internals

Good stage 1 remap

Boost gauge (1.5psi boost)

Induction kit

Full custom 2.5inch turbo back exhaust been de-catted

Forge twin piston dump valve

Audi s4 coil packs

silicon hoses

Leon cupra r fuel rail

Leon cupra r injectors

RS4 4bar fuel preasure regulator

N75 bypass

N249 bypass

Apexi turbo timmer

i have had no problems what so ever and very good on fuel to be fair

auq foged internals as standard ???

Well your gonna need forged internals with 1.5psi boost :p

yeah auq has forged MAHLE pistons not cast ones used in the aug, also has forge con-rods as standard

i have been thinking to go for a front mount, 3"afm and a stage 2 remap to get close to 300bhp.....

my car

my car

Has it been stolen? :giggle:

lol i cudnt get it to upload
