Superb Estate not in top 10

Featured Replies

Just read Sunday Times who are running a supplement "Top 100 cars. The Superb does not get into the top ten Family Car and Estates. BMW 3 series wins, E class is 2nd,Hyundi i40 estate 4th, Mondeo 7th, Isignia 8th and 5 series 10th. Interesting as only a year ago the Superb was receiving plaudits all over the shop. Just shows how abitrary the views of different publications are.

Or how crap the Times top 100 is. A number of the Top100 had dubious choices. Not the best way to start the driving supplement.

Whilst I know that Skoda does advertise in the Sunday Times, could they really have been seen to recommend Skoda? They only grudgingly listed the Mondeo and they mentioned words to the effect of "if you can put up with the badge". We can enjoy sharing a well kept secret!

I don't rate the 3 series or the E class that highly having driven both although admittedly only the more basic models. I struggle to understand their rating the Insignia so highly. I have driven half a dozen as hire cars and Its nearly a good car, but flawed in key areas such as rear head & legroom, bootspace, jiggly ride & the poor mirrors. I have driven thousands of miles in Mondeos and while the dash is not much to write home about they are a spacious great cross country drivers car with brilliant steering and a nice ride and I rate them highly. The Superb has different strengths but I rate it equally. A nice interior, loads of space and great economical diesel engines, they also ooze quality despite the badge. Swings and roundabouts really.

The ST is far outnumbered by those that do rate the Superb.

Oh, no. What will I do?
