How much was the bumper strip?

It was £27 from TPS. But doesn't fit like the original one that came out. If yours is ok but just faded I would try some Gtechniq C4 trim restorer.

Blimey that year flew by ! Service time again. As always genuine parts used. Handy having a trade TPS account so £60 parts total and fitted by myself so very satisfying. Done a massive 3111 miles in the past year !

Castle Combe time. The car performed faultlessly and much fun was had. Link below to second session with Lloyd55vrs riding shotgun and filming with his Lloydie helmet cam.

And a couple of on track pics.

Also picked up something from Lloyd and fitted today. There is now an increase in induction noise. It's ok with windows up though.

Now the airbox is gone time to fit stuff that's been lurking in the garage for ages. 42 Draft Design shifter cable end bushings.

Here you can see one cable end removed. Simply undo spring clip and twist and compress and off they come.

I used new cable ends to fit bushes into. Part numbers for the ends are 1J0 711 761 C and 1J0 711 761 B the difference is the diameter of centre hole that fits over the linkage pin. You could order 2 of any part number as it doesn't matter when fitting the Draft bushings.

First job is to knock the centre out of the new cable ends.

Then insert Draft bushings.

Then re assemble cable ends onto shifter cables and gearbox linkage pins.

This mod results in a much more positive gear change as the original cable ends are rubber and deteriorate over time giving rise to increased play in the linkage. I also have previously fitted the Forge short shift gearbox plate. All back together and tested proved it to be a very worthwhile mod.

Love this car so much. Credit to Pete for all the work. Just got to sort out a rumble on the near side which has got a bit louder since the track day.

I've only done a few vac deletes and the SAI has disappeared too. Other than that I'm just enjoying it.
