Another question on Winter Tyres/Wheels & TPM

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've just ordered a set of 16" alloys and Hankook W310 Evos (215 16 R16) for my 170 4x4 Elegance from Tyremen (www.tyremen.co.uk).

Question is, the car has TPM fitted. Do I need to do anything once the new tyres/wheels are fitted to get TPM happy again? The car is currently fitted with 17" Annapurnas and Pirelli PZero Rossos.

Any help very gratefully received.

Cheers

Steve

The TPMS is quite crude and uses the ABS sensors to detect if one wheel is rotating faster than the rest, it then sets off the warning light and bong.

Providing all 4 tyres are changed at the same time and they are all the same rolling circumference (same amount of wear, or are all new) then the TPMS will not detect that the wheels have been changed.

If however it does just push the button until you get a confirmation bong and it will have reset itself.
