Octavia or Superb

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I took my Octavia hatchback into the dealership at the weekend for some work, while there and casually wandering round, I noticed two things....

1) a stonking deal on a brand new superb estate diesel se+

2) a very good looking octavia estate 4x4 (not scout) diesel for a couple of grand less (about 6 months old)

Obviously this would come down to my personal preference having driven both (which I've yet to do) but can anyone give me some pointers on what to look for/experiences of owning/running both cars?

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong area, I couldn't see a specific topic area for my query.

Thanks.

Money no object then its superb every time. Its the grade up from an octavia.

The choice is yours really.

I have had 4 Octavias and now in a Superb.

They are both very good cars and the Superb is such a nice ride and loads of legroom but I miss the load space of the Octavia.

None of mine have been estates but in the Octavia the rear seat base folds up so you can get a fairly flat load area when the seat is folded but you cant do that with the Superb. (dont know about the estate version)

I also think that the Octavia handles better on fast twisty roads not that the Superb is bad but you cant throw it around as much.

I do around 1000 miles a week and they both do the job very well.

I tend to agree unless you want vRS performance in which case you need the Octavia vRS tsi or go for the V6 superb.

The Superb estate rear seats do fold flat, which is the way the twinhatch should, IMO it was very short sighted of Skoda not to include this.

The Superb certainly is a class above the Octavia, but it is also longer so providing that is not an issue then there is no comparison (owned one Octavia and now on my 2nd Superb)

The Octavia 4x4 is a great car, however after you drive the Superb you'll be won over.

Agree unless the vrs go for the Superb

There was only one thing I didn't like about the superb. The storage. The front door pockets don't have the bottle holders or much storage at all. I think it's also missing some other cubby holes you'll find in the octavia.

Other than that. I loved it.
