Remap Insurance Increase....

Featured Replies

I hate insurance and the hassle and its just my personal IMO given you aren't renewing means the ball is already in their court,

there may be other alternative and equally valid arguments that it may be worth mentioning but I wouldn't

Ages ago when I asked Adrian Flux about it they basically said my premium would increase by the same percentage as the power increase. That was ages ago on a 3rd partt F&T policy though... so may have changed.

I do think it's important to tell the insurance companies these days. Insurance is on the increase all the time, and they will do anything they can to get out of paying. If I were them then I'd be doing the same if I had a slight inclination that it might have been remapped.

As for switching the map back and forth with a STS unit, I was under the impression that the ECU contained a log of events, and so it could be seen that the map was changed in a said time period?

I'm going to give them a call BEFORE I get the remap done, as last thing I want to do is get it done and then find out that this particular insurance company won't insure me. If they wouldn't insure me then I'd have to wait until renewal, because if I got it done and I didn't tell them, then they have reason to check if there was a smash - due to the phone call that I made to ask about it!

I'll give them a call in a week or so and see what they say. I have a feeling that it will be a steep increase for the last 6 months to be honest....
