DV REPLACING ON TFSI

Featured Replies

can this be done without getting the car up on ramps? As it looks well awkward to get to from above.

I had to jack mine up, put it on stands, take the o/s/f wheel off and go in that way.

It needs to be up on ramps or AT LEAST the equivalent height, you need to be able to comfortably get right underneath the car, safely. In fact, even on ramps I found it a bit of a squeeze.

You won't have any chance at all getting at it from above.

As already said, the only way is from underneath on a set of ramps or axle stands and chocks. I dont think the chassis on the Octavia allows you to go in behind the OSF wheel, I thought of that but it looked to be too much of a squeeze. Unlike the Seat Leon.

Its an absolute PITA. I could barely get my hands in to undo the bolts. Took me 3 hours on ramps to replace. It would have been abit easier if i had some allen key style torx tools but i just had to make do with a small ratchet
