G12 and G13 coolant mixing?

Featured Replies

As the title suggests can G13 cooloant be added to my car, it says G12 on the expansion bottle???

G12 is no longer sold

Posted on the Tech section a few days ago but no reply.

It went G12 G12+ and I think G12++, so check with the dealer, but it seems logical that G13 would replace G12 etc.

To be honest if you've got G12 in , then my mind would be to flush the whole system through and replace it with the correct coolant and just get it all out.

Edit:

A bit of a search seems to suggest you don't mix it with G12 or G12+ but it might be ok to do so with G12++.

Based on that, I'd flush the lot through and put in what's right for the motor.

Will do ...I just wanted to top up though and have put about 250mls in just to take it to the minimum mark so I can keep an eye on the level, might have a leak

Then it can be all done.

I think it used to say on the g12+ bottle that it could be mixed with the older stuff, obviously the newer stuff is different.
