I can add one at a later date if I decide it would benefit from one.

You can get copy badges that look OE from ebay that work with any grille.

But I plan to tone it down further if anything... On the lookout for replacement

mirror covers so I can lose the silver earrings next. As much as I love them

a set of OE replacement silver caps will cost over £500 I kid you not.

This means there's a significant market out there for used ones so they get nicked

a lot. Some people want to make a S3 replica out of their A3. I'm doing the opposite

What's more the thieves just tend to rip the whole mirror from the car so add to that the

led indicators and heated and dimming glass and motors etc and you've got an expensive repair

to pay for. I'll get some plain ones and have them sprayed to match the car.

Looks very nice prefer the look you have made to it. Glad you mentioned the silver mirror covers, that's the only thing I dislike, as mentioned they would look alot better body coloured.

But then again I always take the model/spec badges off. I know what it is, so I'm not really interested in telling others. That's the way I look at it anyway

The brake caliper badges will be next to go, The badges are on metal plates fixed to the

wire brake pad retaining spring. The ones from the 3.2 A3 are the same but plain black.

I'll wait until I need a disc and pad change though.

I can keep the badged ones in the shed with the original grille.

I'm torn as liking both the before and after shots but it's how you think of it that matters.

I do really like them myself but I don't want to advertise the variant

as you know. And I definitely don't some scrote ripping them off

so they can ebay them.

I've had rather expensive quotes for wrapping. Apparently it's a very

difficult shape to do, not least due to the integrated LED strip indicators.

I don't want to just have them painted as that's irreversible although I

may give plasti dip a go.

It's looking slightly cheaper to get mirror covers believe it or not. There's a pair already

in black on ebay I'm considering, £69 each. But no need to spray them at least.

Get the black and pocket some money for the silver ones for more mods

another. Gotten for £21 and £20 respectively with free postage on both.

That's the way to do it

in Phantom black for me if they need it for not much money.

I think they will look better black Garry, I'm not a fan of the chrome look at all. Will be nice to see soom pics of them fitted when done.

I'm with you - I'd take chrome mirrors off anything that had them fitted...

Mirror covers arrived today. 1 via UPS and 1 via Royal mail.

Royal mail beating the courier by some 3 hours

Both are solid black rather than metallic and both have a few

external blemishes but no cracks and nothing needs filling.

One small clip has broken off in one of them however but they are

screwed on to the mirror arms so should be okay.

Got a spare LED indicator unit with the left one too.

Another poor sod has had his nicked over on Audi sport

that's 3 in the last week.

The sooner I can get these to the bodyshop the better.

I'll drop them off tomorrow methinks.

Once they are done I can look at getting my wheels done next.

I've found a place locally that has secure indoors storage for the

car while they are being refurbed, I've already been down and

had a chat with them. I'll be going with Shadow chrome I reckon.

Lepsons in Swindon has closed down and Kent is too far for me.

As good as the shadow chrome may look, I'm more of an OEM fan with wheels, hyper silver FTW.

I'd go for a mid-anthracite myself. Has to be the right car for shadow chrome and the 8P S3 isn't one of them IMO.
