Fitted the 65 Shore Powerflex dogbone mount

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Well, as prep for my looming hybrid fitting, im working through a few bits to improve/support this upgrade. I read about the lower engine mount on here and after seeing powerflex doing the 65 shore diesel specific mount, and coupled witht he fact it only cost £25 i bought one!

Fitting was a piece of cake. The lower mount bolts from down by the bulk head to the bottom of the gear box. One big bolt on the car, then 3 to the bottom of the gear box. Once removed from the car i set to work removing the old mount. A LOT easier than i thought - All i needed was to tap a screw driver down the side of the bush which is a hollowed out piece with a PU shell. Once hammered down just ever out.

Fitting the new bush was a bit fiddly, but using all the copper slip supplied and a bench vice it soon went in. Then it was just a reverse of the removal.

First thoughts - Slight vibration through the steering wheel at idle, and i mean slight, dont let this put you off! Gear changes with the power down are a lot quicker and smoother, i guess as the engine isn't twisting under load. Front end almost feels stiffer, more purposeful between letting off power, then re applying.

All in all, id say this is a great upgrade, especially for the price and ease of fitting.

Thumbs up from me :)

Mike

Agred i uave also recently fitted 1 off these items and it makes a hell off a differance when changeing gear

Ebay mate - Store called 'e-parts-store'. Just checked it was actually £23.29 delivered! (part number PFF85-620R)

Just checked on ebay and it looks like they are out - might be worth an email though :)

I've just had a look and they are all coming up as £29.11, :/ don't know how to find the store :( I'm terrible with eBay lol

For a link or item number? Need to order one of these, the movement of the engine when changing while pushing along is really annoying!

As I've said before well worth doing to any car
