hey folks,

thought id better join up and introduce myself, checked out this site for a while now.

skoda's are throughout my family, wee sis has a white furby vrs with the the 1.4 dsg lump, brother in law has a silver furby monte carlo, inlaws have an octy 1.6 greenline.

and ive been into hondas for years, currently running a 2009 civic type r gt.

cracking site btw

Welcome aboard. I did the Honda to Skoda thing, they're absolute polar opposites!

cheers,

the hondas we get nowadays arent as good as before, especially from swindon.

still in a love hate relationship with the fn2

They have a changed a LOT. I miss the older ones! No offence, but I always feel that the turning point was the FN2. It's an odd car. Hardest suspension I've ever felt as standard! Brilliant handler though, and that engine...

Would still love a CL7 Euro R. Proper 220bhp K20A, beautiful body shape, awesome interior...

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hello juice terry and welcome along

Welcome!

Be prepared for other Fabia vRS owners to come and say that they would beat you in a race (bless 'em, poor things)

Pics of the CTR?

old skool vtec'd jdm ftw!!

big bucks for a clean cl7, most appear to live in ireland nowadays.

the suspension on the fn2 is quite brutal, i chucked 30mm eibachs straight on but its still solid

Had a 2004 ctr from new for 3 years and sold it for a house deposit :(

Awesome motor

from a standing start to 60 the wee furby could well beat a civic type r, it does the gear changes for you and i have to wait till 5400rpm for the fun to begin.

but on the open road, especially with twisties i think it could be different. with uprated suspension, decent intake, zorst and hondata the fn2 is a decent motor.

my wee sis has jom coilovers on the furby and says it improves things drastically, suppose a revo would mega too

Awesome motor

never fancied another?

Yep but life moved on and I started doing trackdays with my motorbike so needed something I could stick a tow bar on. Hence the octy vrs :)

Love em though. They still do it for me

the engine is what its about,

i still love taking it for a blast, but its my daily driver and spends most the week sitting on the motorway @ 65/70 mph with cc on,

just a bit of a waste

Yes indeed- nearly pulled the trigger on an EK4 saloon with a B18 motor in it earlier this year, but went down the RWD route instead!

One of my Irish mates has a simply gorgeous CL7. Can't get over how much they are though. A DC5 will do just nicely... you contemplated an upgrade to one..?

a test drove a dc5 a couple of years ago and with hindsight wished i bought it. the vtec crossover was so fierce.

italian styling with japanese relibility!!

clean dc5s are still commanding big money, but i need a daily driver.

before the fn2, i had a 7th gen accord for a few years and the build quality in that was night and day compared with the civic

welcome to the site chap,

im currently the owner of an mb6 vti-s soon to be a octavia vrs owner when i find the right one. Certainly will be like night and day

I think Honda should have added a turbo to the K20 in the FN2, i know its not like honda's of old but they have to keep with the golf gti's of this world.

The old B series vtec's are so much fun though and I will certainly miss it, even the B18C4 (the slowest imo of the B series engines due to its gearbox) its great fun driving about at 6k+

cheers, adding a turbo / supercharger would be great. the vid's of tdi turbo conversion are awesome

all boils down to money, for what it is, the fn2 is a reasonably priced hot hatch .

good luck with the hunt ryan

Welcome along.

My bro's got an accord type R that I've been contemplating buying off him. It's an absolute blast and that vtec noise is second to non. RR @ 231.9 bhp aswell :)
