Deference between pd130 and pd150

Featured Replies

Hi guys, would just like an explanation of the difference between a pd130 and a pd150 turbo and also the difference between the hybrids of both?

May be a silly question but Im just curious. Thanks in advance

Difference....well it's obvious isn't it??

20....

Bigger turbo with stronger internals,

a hybrid if im not mistakin is a pd130 turbo with pd150 internals....i think

The 150 has slightly stronger internals, and the compressor is slightly different so that it can handle a bit more boost, however the housing is the same. It's only the internals that are different when they're stock.

That's why you can fit the 150 straight on to the 130 after you've rotated it.

A hybrid PD130 and hybrid PD150 should in theory be exactly the same as the standard compressor is removed and replaced with a better one.

Hardware wise its the PD150 turbo over the PD130, and a FMIC as standard, and obviously a different software map. I believe they are the same engine blocks though.

there is a lot on the turbo on the forum, but basically a bigger impeller is used - a think around 2mm larger - every mm counts!

Ok thanks very much guys, as I said it was a very simple question just wanted clarification lol

Isn't the PD150 camshaft also made out of chocolate?

Ye I heard that too

Meant to be the same as the PD130 one though (or so I read when buying one). They do seem to have more issues though. :wonder:

Actually I think it's made out of edam cheese... :giggle:

Pd150 has a larger compressor and turbine.

Hybrids use larger compressor wheels but the turbines are left. Some clip the blades but depending where you read thus can be good or bad.

So pd150 is the better hybrid as it has a larger turbine.

Pd150 also has different head bolts.

Cool :) lucky i've got a pd150 hybrid in the way then :)
