PD vs CR vrs derv

Featured Replies

That's because they botched the job. If it is done correctly you won't have problems.

Very true but the number of cases reported on here makes it seem very dodgy ground / hit and miss if someone competent carries out the work in dealers. I know the majority of things on forums like this will be the problems and I am sure there are plenty have had it done with no problems what so ever. Fact remains there will be many many more not on here who have had the same issues and lack of support there after. I would be scared off them now for that reason personally and its just a shame.

Silver you could be facing massive bills

£450 for a DPF removal and Stage 0 map.

DMF's are pricey but I keep my cars til they die or become uneconomicly viable. I know how to drive the car to minimise DMF wear so I reckon there is plenty of life in it yet, it's just a little rattly when crawling and judders under heavy load/low RPM which is bad practice for any car.

My vRS is 5 years old with 60K on it. I've had it a year and bought it with 30K on it.

If I can get a another three or four years out of it I'll be happy.

just got back from viewing a vrs today. It drove well and had low miles but there were a lot of scratches, dings, a poor repair and broken heater vent, broken adjuster on the glove box aircon.

Its a shame as the dealer was going to accept good money too, if it wasnt for those i would have bought it there and then. Ah well, on with the hunt

I've got a 2007 vRS 170PD. It's a great car. Mine has done just about 51k, has had the injector recall and it's going fine. It's also had a DPF delete with a stage 1 map. I don't mind that it sounds a bit rough, it's a diesel after all and I'm used to it having had a Fabia vRS. I used to have a Leon FR TFSI so know about the performance and the Octavia is faster through the gears than the Leon, it's so much easier with all the extra torque. I wouldn't have any hesitation in buying another one.

Remapped vRS PD170 quicker through the gears than a Leon FR tfsi? I seriously doubt that based on my experience.

Just based on mine mate, from 30-60 it's quicker, same hp at 200 but more torque. The Leon was quicker off the line but the Octavia has so much more low down pull.

Had my PD170 for almost 5 years, got it 6months old ex demo. I have covered around 84k in it. Apart from Injector recall and common failure of the abs unit (of which there is a fix kit for a couple of hundred quid) all is fine. Now just getting ready to get that dpf off and a remap. Would seem its rude not to.
