No plug on coolant bottle? (pics)

Featured Replies

I know i've made a few threads recently but just trying to sort everything out at once. Anyway...

I noticed when cleaning my asv, egr and manifold that i had no plug on the water bottle?

i think its for the coolant level sensor but not so sure and might be part of my idle problems. I've removed the bottle and tried to trace all the wires around that area and cant see anything. I can see 3 (i think) metal prongs where i think the plug should be.

Does everyone els have a plug or wires going to the bottle where mine is missing?

Any reason why mine would be missing?

looks like the coolant sensor as you say, however a generic bottle is used across the range so your car may not have the required loom.

My BLT ibiza is like this too

Brilliant, good to have that confirmed at least!

Mine is also a BLT Seat Ibiza.

Yeah like mannyo said, it's a generic coolant tank across many VAG cars so not all have the loom.

My BLT vrs se has the plug. I know because i cleaned my bottle out the other day. Sure its not tucked down somwhere? I can check mine tomorrow and see where it comes from.

My BLT ibiza has one? ..

No, only joking. It doesn't.

I have the sensor on mine (ASZ)

Ahh, but your missing an important point.

..he has an ibiza.

Might well be a bodge stuff a paper clip in, shove the loom down the back, to stop the dash panel doing its usual beeps and warning light when the sensor inevitably fails.

My mate has a BLT Ibiza. They don't have them. No idea why. It's probably been done to make you physically check the levels. Probably hasn't got a screenwash sensor either.

Thanks for all the replies then, it would seem none of the ibiza's have them...

@anewman

That was my worry tbh... I thought the previous owner might have just unplugged it and hid the plug to stop the light coming on.

Thanks again, one less thing to fix!
