As an Octavia II owner, do you "want" the new one?

Featured Replies

You need a Superb estate :)

Which is where I get confused with the models going forward, if the Octy is growing in size. Where's the Superb heading - S-Class/7-Series size?!?

  • Very happy with mine. Mk 3 will have to be very special to tempt me into one when I change. Why do I say that? Because Skoda may be good value, but the dealership network is far from what it used t

  • Can't see there being a VRS Rapid and the Octavia 3 might just be a tad massive to be a Q car like the current VRS. However a 4x4 Octavia Scout might be the car of choice. Unless Merc do a 4 wheel dri

Yeah I know but when I bought the Superb estate was only just launching and I couldn't stretch to one :( Maybe next time a nice Superb estate 4x4 CR170

Probably not, though I'll have a good look at the spec and take a test drive if one suits. Will be through a different dealer than the last one, after they and Skoda UK fobbed me off about the rock hard suspension from delivery. Turned out when I fixed it at my own expense that it had the wrong shocks in (from some big heavy VW 4x4 IIRC). The experience left something of a sour taste and tends to put me off buying a 2nd Skoda even though the car has been great since.

I would think I'll go in one of two very different directions, either back to a Focus estate if they ever sort out the hideous interior design, or more likely to a nearly new BMW 3 Touring, I like the specs for the 328 engine (2 litre turbo), without having to pay the extra insurance premium for a modified car that I do for the the map on the 1.8TSi at the moment. Wouldn't go to an Audi as the driving position crippled my lower back (pedal offset twisting my back) on a drive in a hire car up to Heathrow. Whatever I do it won't happen for another 3 or 4 years, maybe longer.

I've been so impressed with my Octavia vRS FL!

I'm always a sucker for new things but I know for now my car is definitely for keeps because I love it so much!!!

I guess, in 3 years time, I might be on the lookout for a new car, however I'm not quite sure what I'd want next!!!

Leon, if it's for keeps, that's more than 3 years, surely ? I'll be fed up of washing mine by then and will be looking around an Alfa dealership as I had the use of a Guilietta recently and was seriously impressed.

nah my next car will be a yeti 170 elegance slightly shorter & 4x4 and a dam sight comfier than the vrs which i do love but my back doesnt plus is almost as quick as the vrs

Ha, umm yeah! It's for keeps for now...! :) I've always wanted an Octavia vRS, plus I don't need to spend extra money on making a non vRS into a vRS. Don't get me wrong I loved adding extra personal additions to my Fabia's but this cars perfect for me at the moment. Maybe some black Neptune's :p

Speaking of Guilietta's we've got a few in the showroom we need to shift! Do you want one now?!

As for washing, it looks great clean! Where I park for work I've got phone cables above the car and the birds keep leaving their mess all over the rear...I remember my Fabia's only taking a few minutes.

Nah, I'll wait until I'm bored or SWMBO mentions it. Not had its first service yet...

I bet that is the case. I just really-really hope they won't kill off the estate in the process.

The Rapid reminds me of a Proton from the front. Not good. Next car is likely to be a Guilietta.

The guilieta is probably the worst looking car from the front on the road at the moment. Very nice from all other angles but it has such goggly eyes. Not for me. They should have given it the lights from the 159.

I suspect that the Superb will go the same way as the Ford Granada/Scorpio ,and the Vauxhall Senator and quietly fade away.

Will wait and see but a DS9 hybrid looks more likely

From what i've seen of the Mk3 so far nothing about it excites me, the internals all look to be lifted from the existing cars. So most likely im going down the S4 route

I'm very happy with my blackline so I will wait 3years before I decide to change.

Superb is about to get its mid life refresh, so will be around for a while yet. Also the MK2 Superb is a very good seller for Skoda, unlike the MK1 so may well be around for sometime yet.

+1!

  • 3 months later...

I dont think MKII Owners will be in a great rush. The majority of MKIII owners will be Skoda converts.

Ive just done my first 1000 miles since Mar 2nd and i'm loving this car more, just fitted bluetooth[which should have been standard !]

VRS Black Blackline Est with DSG . I will be happy to keep this for 3 years, The neighbours commented on me cleaning it whilst it was snowing ! Whats the problem ?

Yes!

I was in DMK Leeds on Saturday getting my vRS serviced, 14 months old, 35k - brilliant thought it is, Octy 3 Elegance CR 150 does 68mpg and weighs 100kgs less. Plus, I can spec it with memory seats and folding mirrors, which I couldn't with the vRS - cheers Skoda UK! :(

They had one sat in the centre of the showroom, looking lovely, didn't have much time due to other customers and my 6yr old nipper...

As I don't drive mine like a sports car (that's what the E36 is for), I'm sure I could live with a little less hp.

We'll have to see what the cost to change is when I have a proper look next weekend...

Same neighbours i have.

I like my cars, i really enjoy cleaning them, i really enjoy waxing them i really enjoy trying different waxes and sealants.

I dont, drink, do drugs or rob houses...

What IS the problem?

lol.

I don't know how you come to that conclusion? From the threads it appears that the blackline was heavy bought by Skoda converts.

Yes, my 1.4 Elegance was built this week!
