As an Octavia II owner, do you "want" the new one?

Featured Replies

I don't think this will happen, VAG have given the budget slice of the VAG MPV pie to SEAT with the Alhambra.

If you want a seven seater Skoda you'll have to wait for the new Yeti.

  • Very happy with mine. Mk 3 will have to be very special to tempt me into one when I change. Why do I say that? Because Skoda may be good value, but the dealership network is far from what it used t

  • Can't see there being a VRS Rapid and the Octavia 3 might just be a tad massive to be a Q car like the current VRS. However a 4x4 Octavia Scout might be the car of choice. Unless Merc do a 4 wheel dri

  • how can you attract it?? lmao. It breaks under warranty i ask them to fix it ... they say no how do I personally attract it??

I like the VAG people carriers.

There is only ever me in the car but the idea of a huge flexible interior appeals to me. No issues with the image of driving a family wagon / minibus.

The SEAT Alhambra reviews very well too.

My T4 caravelle was a fantastic family wagon, and towed the caravan better than the Scout.

Just had a look at the Mk 3 range - Elegance hatch. I can pay £23K for a diesel I don't want, or else have a 1.4 TSi.

What are they playing at?

I'll stick with mine until it can run no more then, if nothing similar (to mine) has come out by that time, it is goodbye Skoda I'm afraid.

Not for at least 3 years ;)

By then expect the VRS Estate will be on O% VAT fingers crossed! ;)

Yes but also in 3 years time and not new. I'll let someone else take the hit.

Sat in one on the Sunday after it came out and really like the interior and additional toys. My current car will be at 100k by then and I'm hoping having had the car 5 years, the wife won't mind me swapping.

I like the fact it's bigger, like the new shape and more toys is a big plus too. Lets hope my boss does me some favours over the years come April time (not holding out much hope)

I've seen descriptions of "Bland" but you cannot say that the current Octy is anything "special".

The Mk3 is certainly evolution rather than revolution. But to say that the Mk3 is a "lot blander" is difficult to swallow.

From a personal point of view I'm only interested in the vRS. I would be potentially looking for a new one in a couple of years time when my FL is 4yrs old.

If the pictures we've seen of the Mk3 vRS are as it turns out, then there is a very good chance I'll "want one". But we'll have to wait and see - until I can actually see one in the flesh.

Depends which Mk. 2 you have been driving. I could not label the 1.8 TSi as bland. Deceptive maybe. I'm sure the vRS is even less bland!!

No.

My current vRS is sufficient for another year or two now it's on stage 2. After that, not sure right now, but probably not another Skoda....not that I have anything but good words to say about my current jallopy it's just life is too short to always drive the same car and besides I fancy a v8 or v6 next time round

I need to see the MkIII Scout!

If the Mk3 has taken the Octavia up a size sector what is going to happen to the Superb or is that still bigger again? Quite like the Mk3 looks wise but it would be a few years before they come down into my realistic/what I'd want to pay price range.

I looked at the new Octavia in elegance guise and I was quietly impressed with it although ill wait and see what the vrs is like when it comes out.

But after a recent career change the Octavia vrs is up against the jaguar xf so it will have to be special to stop me buying a jaguar!

I'll see what the new VRS petrol is like. I bought mine because it iin 2008 it was reasonably cheap and quick-ish at the right price. Standards have risen and if the new VRS is not as much of a good deal then I may swap for another make or type of car.
