Offset of alloy to get Brembo's behind?

Featured Replies

Or is there more to it than that?

Trying to work out if a set would sit behind my ATEK 5 spokes. They're only 7.0J wide, and AFAIK the offset is ET35.

Is it more trial & error than this though? :)

It's not the offset it's hub face to spoke clearance. If you're thinking of buying the ones in the classifieds be sure to price up new discs first as it doesn't come with any and then compare to the price for a new kit.

You need 50mm caliper clearance.

Hmmm, how do you think the caliper clearance should be for OEM brakes? I know there's a gap I can at least get a fat finger between alloy and caliper now. Gonna have to have a good look as my wheels are not that big/spaced out on the inside.

Cleareance can be minimal, when I was running the Woolfrace wheels with the AP's & 335x32 Discs the clearance was I would guess a couple of mm & I had no problems for about 10000 miles apart from the fecking wheels which kept buckling. the new Cesam wheels have a lot more clearance

If you get stuck its always worth a chat with Ian Godney at Godspeed who built my brakes. He manufactures all the bits himself so by having costom bells (assuming discs have seperate bells) & custom carriers made a lot more is possible. He recently squeezed a set of AP 6 pots with 335x32 discs behind standard RS 17" wheels :):)
