Ooh the refurb looks superb. When will they be fitted? :)

By next weekend I hope mate :D

Just ordered some rubber

Liking the new wheels, really suit the Fabia a lot better than the Seat.

Are you sure? ... I read that these engine mounts create a lot of vibration especially for diesel engines. I just bought the standard one because of that and I have not fitted it yet. Moreover, I have vibratec all around supporting my 197 engine and the vibration @ ideal is awful. I gave my father a ride one and he could not stand it. I had to rev the car up every time I stopped!

Yeah it's fine mate, it's the dogbone that makes them real bad. Will order the cambelt side mount too :)

Simply amazing. Suit the car superbly :)

They look really good mate, good choice staying silver aswell it shows them off well.

Cheers lads, I'm really happy with them. Makes a change from spiders lol. Am glad about the silver too Joe, makes a good contrast!

Looks great Josh! I'm somewhat jealous :p

What tyres did you go for? I didn't think that tyres could be so costly before I bought my new wheels!

Nice one Dan!

Yokohama Parada Spec 2 dude, great tyres IMO they were £301 delivered from cams kill then £28 to fit and balance.

Just realised that takes my 'bargain' wheels to £500 plus the refurb cost!

On that note I would like to report that the vibratech dogbone mount on my 197 need changing after 5K km. I had so much trouble with these mounts I can't trust vibratech products anymore :/

you're doing a fab job on the car :)

How are you finding the tyres? I'm thinking of getting a set, however i don't know anyone who's using them.. I've heard they're awesome in the dry but a bit crap in the wet, so it'd be good to know what they're like from someone who's actually has them..

Actually find them very good, ploughed home down the m4 tonight with a river in the outside lane and they were very good, felt more stable than running the hankooks actually!

Made the brave move of drilling 4 holes in my rear bumper tonight, parkng sensors here we come!

How's Craig getting on with the mapping? Has he made any tweaks since?

  • Author

Not yet John, he's using it as a development car in between other work, I work just down the road so can drop it in and leave it all day.

It's a good deal so I've done quite well out of it.
