Hey Lloyd, not really at the mo mate.

It's going in for tracking etc Wednesday now as I found the cause to my intermittent brake servo issues...the pipe running along the bulkhead split at the join to the one way valve :(

Will have it from tps tomorrow.

Other than that nothing due to this awful weather, need to do my brakes ASAP as the front pads are getting ever closer to steel lol :(

Well I had coilovers set up and corner weighted.

Cars now perfectly balanced...

404kg NSF 404.5kg OSF

Rears were within a very similar tolerance, that was with me sat in it too :) no ballast needed, she's sitting quite low and handling very nicely.

Tracking was also set up with a slight toe out to aid turn in.

Running quite a bit of rake too, it should help keep the front planted and let the rear kick out a bit.

Thoughts one the white line front ARB...it's VERY stiff! But also well recommended! Car feels absolutely great, sticks like **** with the new tyres too!

I also had the vacuum pipe going from the tandem pump to servo fixed, she stops well too now, if I get some good weather Sunday ill fit up my 312/256 combo :)

Overall a VERY happy post from me!

Oh except it's not running quite right, we put it on the dyno and its a weird graph, builds up hard to about 2.5k then stays flat til the red line...I'll run some logs and post them up too.

Good update. Where did you get the car weighed?

It may be in your thread somewhere but what coilovers are you using?

Fitting your brakes you say........? ; )

What was the weight over the rear?

230something springs to mind but not sure mate, I work in a quarry though so I can stick it on the weighbridge and work out total rear axle weight and split it as it was evenly spread. Will do it this week.

Had it all set up at GotBoost in Bridgend, top guys!

I'm running Weitec Hicon GT's Lloyd.

Yeah hopefully sort the brakes this weekend them we can find a sunny Sunday morning to sort yours :)?

Today's delivery...

Gonna be tight with the arches with these on the back lol, 20mm a side

May have to take mine to got boost to set mine up, do you think its worth the money they charge? They qouted me before when i went for a rr day.

Also are they spacers or adaptors?

If your running standard wheels mate then 20mm is fine, I get no scrubbing :)

Fitted the 312/256 set up today, it was a bit of an emergency fit, I'd noticed the state of the front pads...it some some serious abuse last week and it took its toll..

Had my money's worth out of em :p

Also fitted up some new splash guards up front as one had rotted and fallen off

No pics of the brakes just yet, unfortunately one calliper/carrier up front I hadn't had time to paint black so I'll have to wait for a sunny day to whip out the hammerite!!

Yeah definitely worthwhile mate :)

Brakes bled up properly now, some serious stopping power on tap now :)

Gave it a clean too:

Might take some pics later of the actual car as there's very few in this thread as its usually a state with new shiny bits being the only things worth photographing!

What did you use on the wheels mate? Looks like a slasher movie lol

IronX mate, 2 applications of bilberry beforehand

Edited by JoshH

That is a hell of a lot of bleeding! I had loads when I did my wheels for the first time a few weeks ago. Great stuff though Iron-X, and Bilberry. Did you make the mistake of smelling the Iron-X like I did?!

Decided to have another crack at the egr delete fitting!

I'd previously failed on a rounded bottom bolt on the egr :(

After trying mole grips, torx bits, spline bits, Allen bits, flat blades I finally managed it with an Allen bit at an odd angle which just bit...somehow! I'd smacked the screw with driver and hammer from above to try and free it up a little.

Here's the state of said screw head, you'll see why I'd struggled..

Egr itself wasn't in a bad way surprisingly, only seeping oil from the side.

Bolted up the delete pipe

I decided to cut the end off the plastic boost pipe like so..

Which left a nice ride to grip the silicone elbow!

All done

I've actually changed the elbow since for a 57-51mm reducing elbow as it was a bit leaky initially but I fitted 2 Mikaors to each end and it sealed up sweet but is already ordered the replacement elbow.

In other news, my clutch has started slipping

What does the egr delete archive ?

  • Author

Well I archived my old one in the bin, what it achieved was stopping soot being put into the intake and stopped the oily weeping dude :)

Ok so not actually any performance enhancement

Oops posted twice

Hybrid yet?

Nice to see some of the EGRs getting fitted :D

Clutch slip getting progressively worse.

MOT today though! Should fly it, nothing wrong I can see anyway.

Good luck on the mot mate.

Following closely - its almost like fate has brought the vRS to you ;)
