Richard,

Can you let me know what I owe please so you don't have to chase me when the units arrive - I certainly don't want to cause you problems when you've gone to so much trouble and given up your own time to do all this.

Sandy

  • Yes, for basic use the 300 looks like an absolute bargain to me. These are cost prices BTW, I do not earn out of this group buy. I am doing it because I think on the roads today, with insurance clai

I'll send out details Monday/Tuesday together with a request for name and address for delivery and warranty.

Thanks.

Tomorrow I will be installing my power supply system I have decided to do with what's lying around. Plan is to mount a triple 12v socket adaptor in the little glove box by drivers knee. I want to keep the normal 12v plug and hate using one in centre console so can be used to charge phones etc out of sight too :). Also leaves me an option for second camera powering.

I'm doing what this guy did and rigging into the fusebox so that I don't have wires from the 12v socket everywhere - it's pretty straight forward although get the fuses from Halfords, there are plenty of dodgy ones on ebay knocking about.

The AC is a good fuse to use although BossFox has got some great advice.

...oh, and you can stick it on that black bit on top of the windscreen - it's just another sun-visor type thing.

That's what I am doing but instead of cutting off plug and putting camera lead directly into fuse box I will be cutting off plug on a triple 12V socket adaptor and mounting it inside the little glove box and hard wiring that to fuse box. Will leave only wire visible being from the camera itself to head lining which is unavoidable. Will take some pics of what im on about tomorrow when I bring car into the garage to do it. Will mean I can use my existing camera on either an ignition feed or permanent feed without being so obvious to stealer's when it's in for service.

Only thing now is do I point out camera is permanently on in a hope to make them just be careful or let them work away to test them out :D

I did what I was on about today and took some pics and posted in the Octavia II section as I have an Octavia. It is done in such a way as to minimise any cables showing as I have extreme OCD about such things in a car. New camera I will be able to mount higher so will half the amount on show :)

It's all set up as it with my current camera and will be exactly the same with new one when I get my grubby hands on it.

TimDogg, have you seen post #310 and subsequent half a dozen posts?

All fitting stuff began at post #24 and first pic at post #93, it's one long assed thread to read from the start though :giggle:

Yes I have - I have read this post in its entirety.

I have read the internet.

Fact.

I thought some people might find the link useful Sandy. The Miata guy writes about how he used the radio fuse first then had radio snags so changed to the A/C.

TimDogg, understood - I likewise was just trying to reciprocate your helpfulness just in case you weren't aware cos personally I don't often back read on threads if they consist of several hundred posts as this one does. :-)

I just hope I install it quicker than my tow bar and electrics - bought them over six months ago and their still lying in the garage!

I reckon we'll be OK with this one as together we have a lot of knowledge. I have bought everything already - just waiting for the cameras!

People who have paid, let me know who they are and supplied a name and address will get their units posted out later today hopefully, or tomorrow morning at the latest.

Also please be aware this will be the LAST GROUP BUY organised on here for these units by me.

Briskoda now has a forum sponsor (paying to advertise) and I am not competing/taking revenue from the site.

Plus, it actually saves me a job. :)

Thanks for all your efforts with the Group Buys on here BossFox.

I've only bought 1 unit off you but it was straight forward, better to buy from a UK supplier and if i hadn't bought my 400 v2 last September, i would have gone through yourself for it. :)

All paid for !

Thanks Kris.

Other than yours and three others they were all sent this morning.

I'll get yours off tomorrow as when I was packing and posting I didn't have the payment notification.

I'm hoping I wasn't one of the three?
