I plugged the Card reader into my machine and almost immediately got a warning from my AV software.

The path identified was J:\autorun.inf

and the threat as a worm Win32/Conficker.B!inf

This compromises machines across a network!!!

I now need to run checks to ensure I have not been compromised.

Can I just remind people the SD cards should be blank.

The software is hard stored on the unit and transferred to a new SD card the first time it's used.

Any issues, do a reformat on the card.

Just so that you and others are aware, when I plugged in the USB cardholder and SD card to my PC, my AV software - Kaspersky - details the presence of: Net-Worm.Win32.Kido.ir within the location at: E:\AutoRun.inf. Do make sure your AV software is up-to-date before loading the SD card to your PC!

Please follow the instructions and put the card straight in the camera, not your PC.

This (apparently) resolves any issues, another GB member noticed this.

Can't even get a look at the software on the Blackvue site cos you get the link off the Mini SD! Can't use the flipping Laptop anyway cos for some unknown reason (SWMBO!) it is flat and again the power lead is in the same place as the Card Reader.

I wil however be able to 'play' with it in the car tomorrow! I obviously couldn't possibly do it tonight on this hallowed Valentine's Evening - who the hell invented Valentine's Day, it couldn't have been a bloke surely?

I did this with my 400 and it works well and even on highest resolution records many many hours before starting to overwrite again. For some reason my 300 refused my new class 10 8gb card but it works fine with the 4gb card it came with.

Do a full (slow) reformat and preload the software.

Has worked 100% for us so far on an 8gb card.

Mine arrived today. Gave up trying to gently remove Richard's excellent packaging and just ripped it off so I could get at the new toy. Unfortunately family committments mean I can't look to fitting it till tomorrow.

Thanks again to Richard for running the buy and for all the excellent advice he has posted about getting over the nuances of the cameras.

One question, is the power connection common to all the Blackvue cameras? I may well end up getting one for the wifes car and may splurge for a 500 or just get a 380 and might want to move them around without having re-route the cabling.

They all take the same power connector.

But the mounts are different.
